The lavender smell is strong, but not too strong. It's ability to help your razor glide over the skin is so clear. I have used several blades and tried w/ Oil and with Soap then w/ oil and with cream.... The difference isn't the soap or cream it's the oil. The soap/cream adds to moisture, but the oil is what seems to "float" my blade across my face I love this product.

I started shaving in the shower when I was in my early 20s. I grew a beard in my late 20s and I am now 43. Granted I don't have to "shave" but as I've gotten older, shave oil helps tremendously on the neck and cheek line. You ideally want an oil that is not mineral based (like baby oil). Grapeseed and safflower oils are excellent not only for cooking but also for your skin. They are light and virtually odorless and are easily absorbed. Vitamin E is also important for the skin but not too high a concentration. Just put this on after your bath/shower, it will keep your skin moisturized even during the winter months. (absorbs after just a few minutes, by the time you dress)

I ordered this product. It came, well packaged but leaking, yet was NOT the item shown on this page. It was instead Jasmine SCENTED oil. NOW also makes this product, which adds synthetic fragrance to the jasmine essential oil. I didn't have to open it to know it does not compare to the real thing, since it arrived leaking and is currently stinking up my house. It is a very heavy, cloying, almost chemically/perfumey scent. For whatever reason I did not notice the above review before it was to late. I ordered this thinking it was Jasmine Oil, I don't know why maybe becuase that's the picture shown and the name of the product? It's not Jasmine Oil at all it's a Jasmine scented Oil, meaning it's not actually the Oil of Jasmine, if it does have Jasmine oil in it then it also has other artificial ingredients. I purchased Jasmine Oil for consumption!

Perhaps Amazon has changed the description and photo since all the nasty reviews, but I received exactly what's pictured and described (Ingredients Jasmine oil with other fragrances), very nicely packed in a thick wrap of bubble-wrap, no leaks. Note that genuine jasmine essential oil is VERY pricey (about 100.00 for 1/3 oz), so the folks thinking they were duped might not have done quite enough research. Yes, this oil smells a little funky directly out of the bottle it is a concentrate and won't 'blossom' until it's blended with a carrier oil (or wax, or soap, etc). I put some in apricot kernel oil to use as moisturizer, and it smells pretty much like real jasmine after it's blended and sits for a bit. I am pleased and will purchase again (until I win the lottery and can afford the genuine article!).

I Heritage grapeseed oil as a natural heat protectant on the rare occasion that I blow-dry my tightly coiled, Afro-textured hair. This product works very well for this purpose leaving me with soft, smooth, sheen-y hair.

P.S. I use the tension blow-dry method to blow-dry my hair. Do a Youtube search for 'tension blow drying' for tutorials and more information.

When I bought my bottle it was intended for cosmetic use. I was going to make a salve and decided to use castor oil and grapeseed oil. Castor oil is very viscous and the grapeseed oil did a nice job of thinning it out so it wasn't so thick. Deciding on grapeseed oil was pretty much a no brainer for me based on the benefits of it and the price (compared to other oils).

Like some of the other reviews, I do also use grapeseed oil for my hair. I have curly hair that tends to dry out very easily and grapeseed oil really helps condition. Out of all the oils I use it's one of my favorite since it's so light. I also mix it with castor oil (w/ more of the grapeseed) when I'm doing an oil cleansing method on my face.

When I bought mine it was just for the salve but I'm very happy with the product. It came in a timely manner and was packaged perfectly to keep it from breaking. If anyone is worried about that, the bottle is glass so that might be something to consider. Mine was wrapped in bubble wrap with more packing around it to keep it from breaking. I do love when things come in glass because it allows me to reuse it. The bottle is a very dark brown glass which I plan on using for some of my other oil blends (dark glass being good for storing oils).

If anyone is curious about cooking w/ grapeseed (I didn't use this one this time though) it has a very high smoking point so you usually don't have to worry about smoke. I've fried with it and used it in salads. It's a much lighter oil compared to olive oil, and it's also a healthy oil compared to other oils. It does also taste much lighter then, say, olive oil so that might be something to consider, it has a much finer/fainter taste. I prefer the taste of olive oil in most things though, but for a light dish it's perfect.

When I ordered this item, I bought it because a friend of mine had suggested that I do so as a cosmetic aid for dry skin.

I use it as a moisterizer for my face, neck and the rest of my body :-). it works very well. In the winter months here in the Northeast, with indoor heating, the air gets very dry and my skin tends to as well, with accompanied itching and flaking.

This product works beautifully for that. Best way to use it for this purpose, I've found, is to slather it on immediatly after showering for nice rich supple skin.

Definetly recomended and MUCH cheaper than buying a ton of lotions. you get a nice scent, great skin and it doesn't clog the pores of your face, important to me because I'm prone to acne and thought oil on my face was counterintuitive, but it's wonderful.

I ordered this product in hopes that I would have a bottle of almond oil. Well...it's some sort of oil anyway. The label only says "sweet almond oil 16 fl oz" and it was hand printed, EXTREMELY low quality. There's a barcode on the side but its clearly fake because I can hardly even tell it is one, its completely fuzzy. The bottle says nothing about the oil being organic and it lists no company name and no ingredients (even if it is only one ingredient, it should be listed under "ingredients".) I emailed the seller and asked for a return label. I also asked for the company name so I could look the product up. They were extremely rude and told me that I should have done my research before they wasted their time shipping it to me, then told me that the information i was requesting is on the bottle (its not!!) I attempted to reply to the email a few minutes later but the address they had emailed me from was no longer in existence (??!!!) This product is going nowhere but the drain. I now have a $15 bottle (don't forget shipping fees) that I will put REAL almond oil in.
