I have smelled name brands of Rosemary oil before and recognized the plant-ish scent that seems to smell strongly of grass clippings at the same time, just like when you rub your hands along the plant. I was very surprised by this delightful, almost floral rosemary scent (think more along the lines of lavender and less like the scent of pulled weeds). However, I am giving it three starts because I also smell a menthol or mint-like chemical mixed in with the rosemary and I don't believe its 100% pure. It's much too chemical smelling to be pure rosemary. Yes, it smells amazing and yes, I didn't like the stronger weedy scent of the name brand but the name brand was pure and had the same smell as when you eat rosemary. This does not it's sweeter smelling than any rosemary I have ever smelled or eaten. This will be wonderful for scenting laundry and cleaning supplies but is not quite the quality I am looking for to use as medicine & cold/flu prevention. Just be aware if you are wanting essential oils for health this is NOT therapeutic, 100% rosemary essential oil! It is so obviously mixed with something you can easily smell it and the scent disappears from your skin very rapidly!

Bought this color for a root touch-up. Easy to apply, though I did have help doing it so I can't report on how it would be doing alone. As with all box dyes I've tried, the water never truly "runs clear," when you rinse out the color, and, you'll have that "hair dye" smell until your next shampoo. Love that it came with a good amount of conditioner; my hair sure needed it after coloring.

I've only had this color in a couple days-so far, so good. I can tell that the random red hairs didn't take the dye as well as the rest. It's not brassy, I just have a few random natural fiery strands that like to fight hair dye.

The real downside is the amount that you get. I have fine, thin hair layered down just past my shoulder blades. With traditional mix-n-go bottles, I have at least half a bottle left over from root touch-ups, which is great to have on hand to work through the rest of my hair for an all over touch up, or if I miss a spot; this time it was barely enough to get the roots done. If you have a thicker mane, or longer hair, you'll need at LEAST two bottles.

All in all, not bad.

Pros: Really easy to mix & apply, which was awesome.

Cons: Not a lot of product, does not cover stubborn red.

I bought this soap to use primarily as a hand soap for my childcare. I am a natural and organic childcare, so I choose to use soaps that are natural, too. I was thrilled to find these on Amazon as Castile Soap in stores is typically $7+ for one bottle. It has been wonderful! It's light and not overpowering, but it's strong enough to make their hands clean and make the bathroom smell like fresh ginger. I prefer the Vanilla Almond scent, but this was much cheaper when I needed more. I was happy to discover that it's perfect for refilling the foam soap dispensers; I mix only 1/4 1/2 Castile Soap and the rest water to get the perfect combination. For antibacterial help, I add a few drops of lemon or tea tree essential oil (bought on Amazon, of course).

I recently purchased the six pack of Shadow Lake Castile Soap Liquid in the Fresh Ginger scent. This is the first time using castile soap. I bought it for using as baby wash for my kids and while it cleans SO MUCH BETTER than Johnsons Baby wash, bec. this is REAL soap, I really dislike the scent... I thought from the reviews it would be better, but trully not good for babies baths. For regular kitchen cleaning, or s/t like thatit would be fine and that is what I'll be using the rest for...

Also, I didn't realize it would be so liquidy. Maybe that is how they all are, but it is very liquidy, but very strong and potent too!

My family uses this soap for our faces. We love it and it has improved my skin tremendously. I have adult acne and this has helped clear my skin on my face. It doesn't leave my face feeling dry or oily but just smooth. I really like this product and wish I had this to use when I was a teen. It is affordable and does what it says it will do. My only criticism is the amount of ingredients in this soap. I've used a few other natural soaps that have 1/4 the amount of ingredients. What worries me a bit are the amount of "acids" listed on the back. I know they are all synthesized from plants, which make them "natural", but I've never seen these complex names in other soaps. For example, Levulinic Acid "is prepared in the laboratory by heating sucrose with concentrated hydrochloric acid." It also "is used in cigarettes to increase nicotine delivery in smoke and binding of nicotine to neural receptors." This is all from the Wikipedia page. Although it did say the ingredient was relatively non-toxic I found no mention of it being commonly used in soaps or any other personal hygiene product. So why is it in Young Living's? These are only my thoughts and opinions. I'm going to stick to Dr. Bronner's from now on. I can count the ingredients on my fingers and I can understand what they are...

I have been using this product for a long time. I use other masks too, but always come back to this one my favorite. I use it about a twice a week & especially on going out night. Tired of products with ingredients and other nonsense you've never heard of? Great because I don't see the point in buying products with tons of chemicals in it. This licorice soap from the Amish is quite great. It obviously smells like licorice. If you buy this and hate licorice to begin with then...you're sad. This soap gets rid of almost everything I have managed to dirty myself up with. I work in a factory and get primer and crap on myself. This does an equal, if not BETTER job at getting rid of 'gunk' than leading brands. It's great for the beard and hair as well. It's definitely worthy of cleaning everything! It's really is organic and all of the ingredients are told to you!

Cons:

The product was smaller than I thought. It did say that the soaps varied between 5.6 oz. to 6.4oz. I must have received the 5.6 oz. The soap goes away quicker than you think!

I want more. I advise purchasing this.

The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars is the dark brown coloring that shows in our soap dish. Love the smell, it leaves the skin feeling so soft and someone I bought anise soap from before told me to use it on my baby-fine hair. My hair dresser couldn't believe how thick it made my hair and wondered what I was using. If you love black licorice...you'll love the smell.

What a wonderful soap. The great licorice scent is a favorite in our family and the soap really really cleans. The soaps ability to remove odors and not mask them is second to none as we found out after working in the yard during the hot days over the summer. It removes tree sap well and does an amazing job on grease and oil. We've been using it as a shampoo replacement and it leaves hair soft and manageable. This is a large bar of soap that seems to last a long time. We look forward to trying other soaps from Honest Amish. For Men, this and the Honest Amish Beard Balm Leave-in Conditioner is a great combination as both have the wonderful licorice scent. The only way to make this soap better is if they would sell this by the crate.

I Heritage grapeseed oil as a natural heat protectant on the rare occasion that I blow-dry my tightly coiled, Afro-textured hair. This product works very well for this purpose leaving me with soft, smooth, sheen-y hair.

P.S. I use the tension blow-dry method to blow-dry my hair. Do a Youtube search for 'tension blow drying' for tutorials and more information.

When I bought my bottle it was intended for cosmetic use. I was going to make a salve and decided to use castor oil and grapeseed oil. Castor oil is very viscous and the grapeseed oil did a nice job of thinning it out so it wasn't so thick. Deciding on grapeseed oil was pretty much a no brainer for me based on the benefits of it and the price (compared to other oils).

Like some of the other reviews, I do also use grapeseed oil for my hair. I have curly hair that tends to dry out very easily and grapeseed oil really helps condition. Out of all the oils I use it's one of my favorite since it's so light. I also mix it with castor oil (w/ more of the grapeseed) when I'm doing an oil cleansing method on my face.

When I bought mine it was just for the salve but I'm very happy with the product. It came in a timely manner and was packaged perfectly to keep it from breaking. If anyone is worried about that, the bottle is glass so that might be something to consider. Mine was wrapped in bubble wrap with more packing around it to keep it from breaking. I do love when things come in glass because it allows me to reuse it. The bottle is a very dark brown glass which I plan on using for some of my other oil blends (dark glass being good for storing oils).

If anyone is curious about cooking w/ grapeseed (I didn't use this one this time though) it has a very high smoking point so you usually don't have to worry about smoke. I've fried with it and used it in salads. It's a much lighter oil compared to olive oil, and it's also a healthy oil compared to other oils. It does also taste much lighter then, say, olive oil so that might be something to consider, it has a much finer/fainter taste. I prefer the taste of olive oil in most things though, but for a light dish it's perfect.

I have read in several aromatherapy books that Ylang Ylang is an essential oil that a person is either drawn to or not. This seems to be the case just from reading the reviews here on Amazon.

Interesting to note also that Ylang Ylang is one of the ingredients in the pricey perfume, Chanel No. 5, which has been very popular for about 60 years. To me, this bottle of Ylang Ylang from Plant Therapy was sweet euphoria right out of the bottle~and much cheaper than Chanel No. 5. It also made my tension headache go away instantly! I have ordered other oils also from Plant Therapy and have been very satisfied, will buy again.

I ordered five oils from this company. I received the first four today, and it was a mixed bag...The Ylang Ylang oil arrived with the seal already opened (my Lemongrass oil had the same issue), which concerns me from a safety/hygiene perspective, so I returned it. It also happened to smell terrible; it had an almost caustic aroma. I was pleased with the blended oil that I purchased (Citrus Burst), so I think that if I make more purchases I'll stick to the mixes that Plant Therapy makes. I am new to essential oils, and to be fair, perhaps I'm just not yet comfortable with the strength of the individual scents like the Ylang Ylang. As for it being open, I'm willing to forgive that since Amazon has such a good returns policy.
