I'm an older woman experiencing the trials and tribulations of having (once upon a time) no-problem hair and nails to wondering what the hay happened. I began taking one pill a day rather than the two recommended pills and I tracked my progress. By the end of three months (this was in the late winter months on the east coast), my nails were stronger, no more tears on the side and constant up-and-down nail length. I take these along with the Borlean's Evening Primrose Oil for PMS symptoms. This and the Primrose really help alleviate breast tenderness and bloating associated with PMS. I'm amazed. I always consider Borlean's to be the best of quality.

"Borage seed oil is POSSIBLY SAFE for most adults and children as long as it is free of dangerous chemicals called pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs). Borage plant parts including the leaf, flower, and seed can contain PAs. PAs can damage the liver or cause cancer, especially when used in high doses or for a long time. Pregnancy and breast-feeding: It's important to avoid borage products that might contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs). PAs are a risk to the mother because they can cause serious liver disease and might cause cancer.
