Pros:

just as good as Burt's Bees

good price

Cons:

large size if you can't use it fast enough

I have tried several brands of apricot oil including somewhat pricey Burt's Bees. There is no noticeable difference between this and the other brands I have tried. We use this after for moisturizing and for a massage oil. It works great.

The 16oz size may be a bit large for personal use as all the apricot oils I have tried lose their smoothness and get "grainy" over time. So if you are the sole user or won't use it all within a couple of months, you should pour some into a small bottle and but the rest into the freezer to preserve it.

Tip: For a great massage oil, get some lavender essential oil and add a few drops of 6oz of apricot oil.

I use this apricot kernel oil for skincare and haircare. The 16oz bottle comes with some ideas for what you can use this oil for. For haircare I use a mix of apricot kernel oil, sweet almond oil, and jojoba oil and it's been good for my scalp and my hair with all its vitamin E and moisturizing properties. For skincare, these oils absorb quickly into the skin and doesn't leave an oily residue. My skin is so much softer now and the creases on my neck have been reduced. I'm not at the age to have many wrinkles on my face yet, but it's improved the texture of my skin and I have not gotten any pimples from these oils. This price is also cheaper than what I could find on ebay. I'm happy with this product!

I use this oil in a spray bottle with a little water. It is great for softening the skin and preventing wrinkles. Spray it on after showering and rub into the skin, you won't believe how soft your skin will feel! It says it can be used in cooking, but I have only used it in place of lotion to soften the skin.

This is the first oil I've ever bought for skincare purposes. After washing off my makeup for the day and using my Clarisonic, I'll apply this all over my face and neck, massaging as I go. I only use this at night since it's a bit too heavy for day use.

I really wasn't sure how I would like this. I have normal/combination skin sensitive to breakouts. I was pleasantly surprised to find that AKO seemed to balance my skin, leaving it moisturised, soft and smooth.

Personally, I can't apply it around the eye area. I was hoping to use it as a sort of eye cream as well as a face and neck moisturiser but found it was too heavy for the eye area for me; it caused milia.

I purchased the larger size. I put some into a smaller bottle and use that. I leave both the larger bottle and my smaller one in the fridge for keeping.

I was always wary about purchasing night creams because there are so many ingredients, and I never know if they'll break me out or not. This worked wonderfully, and I'm a facial oil convert. Since purchasing this oil, I've also bought Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil and Maracuja Oil. I really like the MO, but the AKO is my favourite. AKO is heavier than the SBTSO and MO. AKO has a slight nutty smell. SBTSO has a strong nutty smell. MO smells completely different; it's earthy, like a mixture of roots. The MO doesn't have the most pleasant smell, but it goes away once applied.

Once I finish this bottle (whenever that happens!), I plan to repurchase again and again.

I bought this to add to my arsenal of natural oils that I use for my hair & skin. The conditioners you buy in stores have a minimal amount of the actual ingredient that will help moisturize your hair! For a fraction of what you pay for those high-end brand name " deep conditioners " , You can make your own. It's so easy!! I use OLIVE OIL, GRAPE SEED OIL, AVOCADO OIL, MACADAMIA NUT OIL, COCONUT OIL( a must!!) & this APRICOT KERNEL OIL. You can add a teaspoon of ALL of these to get the MAX benefit or use 1-2 of your faves. Your hair will feel & look AMAZING!! No store bought product comes close !! Your hair will SOAK up the moisture & nutrients from the oils it needs & just RINSE ! Easy hah? Now for a good PROTEIN treatment : Add 1 egg too your oil mixture , mix it in well. It will get stiff on your hair( it's suppose to!) just like those $expensive "protein pacs"! After about an hour, rinse well in COOL TO WARM WATER, if you use HOT it will cook the egg & it's harder to rinse out!! But cool water & it's rinses right outBUT, unlike those protein pacs where you need to buy or use a separate MOISTURIZER , the OILS TAKE CARE OF THAT IN 1step!! If you just want the oil treatmentsput some or all of the oils in your hair, saturate it good, I leave it over night but you can wash it out in an hour. You just rinse in warm water, but if you find your hair is still a bit oily, shampoo after the treatmentyour hair has soaked up what it needs already. Air dry, blow dry, I put a small amount on my ends as a leave in ( any of them work well, olive oil is great!) . After you style your hair you will be amazed at how soft & shiny it is!! These oils are NOT expensive & they come in BIG bottles to last awhile! Well worth it!

The oils are also great to put on your skin after a shower! Coconut, apricot, fab moisturizers! & this one is a good one for your face ! No clogged pores!! I use the olive oil to remove waterproof eye makeup, it wonderful & good for your eyelashes too!!

Get NATURAL, or FOOD GRADE oil!! Some are in the grocery dept here. They are better & cheaper than oils with xtra "junk" in them! No alcohol, No silicones, no fillers, just pure oils!

*IF YOU WOULDN'T PUT IT IN YOUR BODY, THEN DON'T PUT IN ON YOUR BODY!! :)

Happy conditioning!!! Jenn~
