Zhena's Gypsy Earl Green tea is a fragrant pleasure. The bergamot flavor of Earl Grey does just as well (if not better) with the good-quality green tea they select for this blend.

You can pretty much count on any Zhena tea to be something special. I also like that the round, string-free tea bags are *not* individually wrapped. The attractive tins are both reusable and recyclable--but I have to wonder how much of the price covers the marketing design and the packaging. Apparently you can buy refill packages of tea bags, but I haven't seen them on Amazon (maybe I'm not trying hard enough). That quibble aside, you do get 6 more bags than in many of the cardboard boxes out there.

Lovely tea!

I'm normally not a big fan of green tea, but I really love Earl Grey, and this tea blends the two beautifully! I now have a green tea that I can enjoy. I love a nice strong bergamot note in my Earl Grey, and this tea delivers. It's great steamy hot, or sweetened (I like to just add dried stevia leaves) and served iced in the summertime. Totally worth it for a special tea experience!

Summary: this is a fine approximation of Earl Green, but no match for the (discontinued?) Salada brand version.

I first discovered Earl-Grey-but-as-a-green-tea (rather than black tea) when I came across Salada Earl Green Tea in a grocery store.

Sadly, I can no longer find Salada Earl Green Tea. (it can be found in an Amazon search, but all you get is a sign-up button to be notified when it once again becomes available.)

I have now tried about 3 other brands' versions of 'Earl Green', and this is by *far* the *best*, although it still does not equal the taste of the Salada version.

All Zhena tea is flavorful and high-quality. This Earl Green has a strong scent when you open the package, but it doesn't quite brew into something with as much 'punch' as the out-of-the-box scent. But that is probably good, because the scent is a bit overwhelming when you open the package.

Earl Green is a specialized taste. I know several people who enjoy the standard Earl Grey (as a black tea), and nonetheless find Earl Green to be strange-tasting.

This Zhena's Earl Green contains a number of added flavorings beyond just bergamot. It contains orange peel, rose, and ginger root. To me, this detracts from being able to actually perceive the bergamot. Nonetheless, this tea is very satisfying and has a pleasing aroma (although not really a bergamot aroma).

The only real green tea that I have actually enjoyed drinking. This is the tea that convinced me to buy more Zhena's teas, and I have not been disappointed yet. It is also the tea that converted me from an iced-tea-only Southern gal, to a hot tea lover. I'm very thankful for the friend who sent me "a can of tea". =D
