For years I had heard people talk about the benefits of castor oil but I was very content using my coconut oil. However, when my edges started thinning, I decided to try castor oil. I applied it to my edges almost every night before tying my hair up for the night and a month later it is thicker and longer. Be warned that this oil is thick and sticky (but I don't mind since it does the job).

I am very pleased to use this oil. I heard great reviews about castor oil when it comes to natural hair. So I wanted to give it a go, being a "natural products only" type of gal. After deep conditioning and washing with black soap, I went with my usual routine and applied my Kinky Curly leave-in, and instead of purely jojoba, I used jojoba combined with castor oil on soaking wet, freshly washed hair with the leave-in. The result: no sealing in the moisture when my hair is 90% dry! The castor oil is heavy enough to lay down the cuticle layer on the hair shaft down, acting as a sealant. Just like sealing with a butter, except lighter! Lighter means your hair moves more easily. I don't actually need shea butter to seal in my hair now, because this is able to replace it. However I love my shea butter, and I won't give it up without a fight! ;)

I now oil my ends with castor oil daily, and my hair seems stronger. I thought I had virtually no breakage then, but NOW its amazing. No breakage at all, hair is shiny, stays moisturized longer, and it helps my skin too. Highly recommend for dry, unruly hair, or dry skin. Tip: More is less with this stuff! You only need 1-2 drops, so it will last a long time.

FOR SCALP & HAIR Anyways, I recently started researching for recipe's for homemade hair masks to heal, lengthen and strengthen my hair. Majority of the recipe's had Castor oil in it and also as a kid my mother would apply castor oil to my eyebrows, to help thicken them. That got me to think and also to invest in this product along with NOW Sweet Almond oil. Just 2 weeks of using this product I felt my hair strands more thicker and noticeably less brittle. I apply a mixture of (NOW castor oil, NOW Almond Oil and Parachute Coconut Oil) twice a week and keep it overnight. I make the homemade mask with (Avocado, Eggs, Banana, Raw honey, NOW castor oil, NOW Almond Oil and Olive oil) every weekend and leave it on for 2 hours and shampoo and condition normal with COLD preferably or luke warm water. Hot water will cook the egg in your hair and I'd much prefer having scrambled eggs in my tummy than on my hair...lol! After every wash I re-apply (a drop of each-Castor, almond, coconut) just to my roots and ends when my hair is very wet, they work great as a leave-in conditioner and my hair doesn't feel greasy after they air dry. Instead they are nice bouncy and shiny

Its been a month since I have started the above routine and I am so glad to have found these 2 products that I am hooked for good. I prefer to mix castor oil with Almond because its consistency is quite thick and Almond helps to smooth the application as well as moisturize, whereas castor gets the circulation going.

DURING AND AFTER SHAVE I also add the NOW sweet Almond Oil to my shaving cream or gel to smoothen the shaving process on my legs etc. Apply it after shave as well to avoid dry, itchy skin.

EYEBROWS I have recently tried using mixture of (castor oil and almond oil) on my eyebrows and eyelashes (be careful avoid your tear ducts area and don't let it go into your eyes). Don't know whether its working on my eyelashes or not cos I am not keeping tabs but definitely noticed new hair growth on my eye brows. I do this before I go to bed. In the morning I take Almond oil on a round cotton ball and swipe over my eye-lids (just like when you attempt to remove eye-makeup) Just to give it a thorough swipe cos of the thickness castor oil contains and then wash your face normally. I suffer from mild to average acne and I feared of breakouts but to my surprise this routine after I washed it off gave a lovely glow around my eyes and forehead. Maybe I'll try just almond oil on face next time when I make my face pack.

I am very happy with NOW products, received them in timely manner, in good condition and above all they are so ridiculously CHEAP. I have vowed NOT to buy expensive shampoos or conditioners or soap cos my hair, my scalp and skin are already getting all the nourishment it requires from the above routine's so why spend any more.

PLEASE NOTE Whenever trying anything new preferably do a small test to see if it suits you. Cos what works for one person may not work for everybody.

Can i say WOW? Castor oil has been a miracle for helping me grow my edges! Ive used this product for approximately 3 months and it has accomplished the reason I purchased it. I love my hair overall however no matter what i did to grow my hair it seems everywhere flourished but my edges. I now have them at a length im happy with and will definitely order this product again. If you have a problem with growing out your edges you should get this. Make sure you dont just slap it in your head lol, massage it good to get the blood flowing! :) This oil is THICK lol so when i use it to seal the rest of my hair and ends i dilute it with a bit of olive oil and it stays moisturized and soft all day as well as shiny; even the past month where its been pretty cold and my hair dries out a lot easier. It has become my staple product i will definitely use in the winter months.

I also used this for my face to help with breakouts since ive been getting alot of them lately, stupid hormones >:\ My breakouts first became less severe and completely vanished after a weeks use. I like the fact that this product is natural and can be used for a lot of issues. You do not have to always kill yourself with chemicals to get great results, castor oil will give that to you.
