Research was done saying mice hate Peppermint Oil so I bought it. I put it all over were I had mice. Well it didn't work and this peppermint oil didn't last long. The smell. Finally I just put some in cups and put it in cabinets but it dried up. So that's why I dont like it.

We have had rodents (mice or squirrels) get in the engine compartment to chew on wiring to use for their nests. We started soaking a couple of cotton balls with the peppermint oil and placing them on opposite sides of the engine compartment. I repeat soaking the cotton monthly. Since then we have not had another instance of damage from these rodents.

This may not be why you are looking for peppermint oil but it is unbelievable. We have lived in our house, which is on a slab, for 15 years. For 12 of those years, we fought the mice each winter. Plug the holes, bait, traps, immediately cleaning up food, all flour/sugar/etc in sealed containers. We had mice every winter, often lots of mice (the worst month we caught 30+). We had a baby and I was disgusted with the thought of kids on the floor in winter. My husband went searching on the internet and found the peppermint oil solution. Dilute it with water, put it in a spray bottle, and spray the perimeter of your house (garage)every week to two and after heavy rains. We have had 1 mouse in 3 years. It's unbelievable. This stuff is very strong smelling so use caution not to spill it.

I put this in my garage to keep the mice away. Last Spring I found 1 dead mouse. It is hard to find Pure Peppermint Oil at a reasonable price. This is a good buy.
