Barlean's brand apparently does not fill up top of bottle with nitrogen to reduce oxidation. Oil purchased was about 14 weeks old from press date on opening. Using oil for Budwig Protocol (Info at to fight cancer so having fresh (unoxidized oil) is crucial. Have previously used Flora brand (uses nitrogen top-up), which was not so yellowed.

At the time of writing, this product, with my vote taken into account, scores 3 out of 5. Barlean's high lignan oil gets 4.5, and the same oil as this one, but in 16oz, gets 5. The reason this one scores lower is because of the price it was being sold at when two of the reviews were written. It is now back at the lower price. What I am driving at is this oil should also score at least 4.5 out of 5.

It is amazing oil. Since discovering it I have fallen in love with its taste, and now can't imagine dunking bread into my soup without first drenching it with flaxseed oil.

I also get the high lignan oil... I think they both have the same astoundingly gorgeous flavour.

Do yourself a favor and buy it.
