I had seen a commercial for a book that stated peppermint oil is a safe and natural deterrent of mice. I hate mouse traps, especially glue traps....they seem so cruel, but loathe mice. And so I thought, what could it hurt to try? I bought the Olympian Lab peppermint oil, put it on cotton swabs, and placed it where I had seen some droppings. That was a couple of months ago, and I haven't seen any droppings since. And I definitely haven't seen a mouse. I did a Google search and found out that they are allergic to peppermint oil and won't come near it. The same is true for squirrels (ever get those in your attic?). I live in a wooded area, and every year they sneak in my houses, but not anymore. The only thing is, you have to put the peppermint oil out regularly. But now I don't have to worry about harming my children with poisons, or emptying trays. Also with Amazon, you can do Auto Ship on a regular basis (of your choosing), and receive a small discount.
