So I'm going to be candid and possibly reveal TMI: I rarely wash my bras. As in... ever. OK, maybe twice a year. I know. I'm disgusting. In my defense, I DO have 10 "regular" bras that I cycle, and I wash my sports bras after each use, but, yeah, OK, still gross.
So I finally gave in to my sister's "YOU ARE SO GROSS" comments-OK, so it was moreso that I actually read that it helps the longevity of bras to wash them regularly. So after reading reviews and watching the "how to" video from The Laundress, I decided "looks easy enough" and got the wash. It came in and I filled the sink and tossed in a few bras and let them sit. I came back after the soaking and the water was murky and there was stuff floating on top like a swamp. It was so. gross. I had no idea!!!! They didn't stink and they LOOKED clean!!!! But no, they were absolutely filthy.
I rinsed, rolled and hung dry and they really did look quite fabulous.
Not sure how it would compare to Woolite or some other wash out there, but this stuff is really delicate and since it's a liquid it dissolves in water super easy (vs a powder formula) and it smells quite lovely. Plus, it is super duper concentrated, and a teeny amount (as in 1 capful) cleans the garments, and it's only 4-8 capfuls to clean clothes in a washer ("capful" is the teeny black cap you see in the picture, it's about an inch high.)
I highly recommend it.

Not only does this delicates wash smell lovely, but it is very concentrated. I wash virtually all my hand-washables with this and still replenish only every 6 months or so. I appreciated the redesign of the label on the back of the bottle, with instructions on how much to use and how to wash particular items. I also like that it's not full of chemicals and "has been tested on Gwen and Lindsey and not on animals." That sentiment shows not only conscience on the part of the creators of The Laundress, but also a sense of girlfriend-like humor. They value the investment in clothing, making it last by treating it well, and using one's own elbow grease to do it. I went in search of a product to use for newly-purchased (and upgraded) lingerie, and searched/found one on Amazon. I read the reviews on The Laundress Delicate Wash, then visited their website () to read more about their products. I found some great videos on their website, demonstrating the "proper" way to safely wash expensive delicates. Very helpful! I had also found it difficult to find local products for delicate washing thank goodness for Amazon! After trying this wash, it really as wonderful as other reviewers have said. Easy to use, very mild and non irritating to the skin and cleans items thoroughly and gently. It has a very mild fragrance that I did not find too much or too offensive. This scent is very strong and much too perfumey for me. I have to let it dry in another bathroom that I don't use. I've tried rinsing it several times in cold water but can't get the smell out. It lingers and lingers. Since they make an unscented stain remover, I wonder why they don't make an unscended cleanser.Want The Laundress Delicate Wash, Lady, 16 - Ounce Bottle Discount?
I was disappointed to find this scent very "perfumey" BUT it did not linger on the handwashed and airdried garments. I might buy this again if I do not find an equally effective and gentle wash for my lingerie which has a softer and more natural fragrance that is more appealing to me. If you don't mind strong scents while you are using a wash product, you definitely should try this. And I think even if you prefer softer fragrances, this is worth a try, as I think that you probably will find it takes nice, gentle care of your delicates.
