Aging maturity can affect hair texture. My hair is a combination of types 4a and 4c. Type 4 hair is tightly coiled and does not produce adequate amounts of natural oils. This results in perpetually dry hair that breaks easily. The long-term use of prescription medications for Rheumatoid Arthritis only exacerbates the brittleness of my hair. For years, I've purchased over-the-counter hair products that promise to moisturize the hair, penetrate the hair shaft, strengthen the hair follicle and make hair more manageable. And for years I've been disappointed in the results.
After considerable research I decided to experiment with creating a natural hair elixir that is free of parabens, petroleum, synthetic chemicals, alcohol, hormones and colorants.
I added the Tea Tree oil which is an antiseptic, stimulant and depurative (removes impurities) to a formula that contains Rosemary, Thyme and Cedarwood (for inflammation and itchiness and hair loss) and Sweet Almond oil ( a carrier essential oil that penetrates the hair shaft and allows other oils to moisturize the entire hair shaft. I also include Jojoba oil which includes several very important vitamins and anti-inflammatory properties and organic olive oil which is one of nature's best moisturizers. I spray a small amount of the formula on my hair and scalp every other day and follow with a small amount of dissolved, organic, raw Shea butter.
This formula has worked wonders for my hair. The texture has improved markedly. My hair is shiny and healthy and it is no longer brittle and breaking when combed.

This tea tree oil is a great product... cured me of a gum infection before i could get to the dentist. Its also great in the humidifier when my daughter and i had a cold. This particular brand is very strong and goes along way.Keeps the Cavity Creeps away! 1-2 drops on wet toothbrush with toothpaste (no freggin fluoride, jeesh!). Not easy at first. After maybe three years of watching the big toe of the left foot thicken and twist I mentioned this condition to my older sister during a family outing.
