I have used and swore by Gold Bond powder ever since I first discovered it. It truly is a superb product that can very quickly clear up a rash or any other kind of irritation "anywhere" on your body, as well as being very effective on sunburns. Although I have never found the regular strength to be "weak" as some others have made a note of, no doubt if you happen to find the regular strength that way on occasion, trust me that upgrading to this extra strength formula will give you back the delightful "tingle" that you so sorely miss. That tingle, or stinging sensation is what a few folks seem to shy away from this powder for, and a whole lot more can't seem to get enough of. That tingling is what gives this powder an almost over night sensation status as to its ability to dry up and heal rashes close to miraculously. Trust me I have used Ammens powder in the past. And though it is a good medicated talc as well, it still manages to trail a distant second to this stuff. Everything in this category does. This is the very best there is as far as medicated powder available as far as I am concerned.

My only problem with this powder is its price. Every major drug store chain sells their own version of this extra strength Gold Bond "green" for a pretty hefty savings over the name brand. The ingredients listed have always been exactly the same every time I have bothered to compare them. And in my experience, the same goes as the store brands performance and effectiveness. If you're like most of us these days and not always able to be so fashionable as to the purchase of name brand products, I highly recommend buying the store brand equivalent of the Gold Bond extra strength most highly. By all means if money is not a consideration, don't look any further than the genuine Gold Bond green. (Or any further than here on Amazon if you're of a mind to buy it online. It's a fair price and a good deal when bundled for free shipping). Gold Bond is valued as practically a miracle drug for those that have come to swear by it. And that includes me...

Who doesn't love Gold Bond? Use after the shower on various parts of your body. Be careful though -DRY OFF completely before applying the powder.

The regular strength gold bond is, in my opinion, too weak and doesn't provide that tingling sensation.

The extra strength (this bottle) is perfect -just strong enough.

If you're a little bit of a masochist, use the foot powder. But be careful.

Don't get into mucus membranes, eyes, other sensitive areas etc.

Years ago I was in the rain forests of Costa Rica for a primatology field school. I suffered terrible heat rashes on the insides of my lower armpits (those pits on the opposite side of the your elbows). Because of the tropical setting, the rashes were heightened and even more painful. One of my good friends offered me some gold bond to help stifle the rashes. At the time I was only familiar with the yellow bottled gold bond and when she pulled out a greenish bottle it blew my mind. When I applied the powder I was in heaven, the experience was unbelievable. I mooched off of her good will for the next month and when I came home I immediately bought a bottle of my own.

Now, four years later, I still regularly use this wonderful product. I currently have two bottles (of this size) stationed around my apartment at the ready for when I am about to go out for the day and/or when I need to sooth rashes or irritations of any sort. I even have a bottle (though smaller) in my car for emergencies. I cannot fathom living the remainder of my life without this product...okay I can, but it would probably be uncomfortable and sucky.

5 star product, hands down.
