I am a massage therapist and I cannot say enough about this product! I generally use jojoba oil but when massaging the feet I always apply this product. It has such a great smell and it softens while masking any foot odor. I do use it for its cooling effect on mild aches and pains when biofreeze would be overkill(It blends well on the body when used with jojoba). When applied to the bottom of a face cradle it can relieve the stuffy head effect from being face down. It can even be used VERY sparingly on the face. My clients love the wintergreen smell. 90.74% natural makes it a winner in my book any day!

I just love this stuff! It has a great smell and a refreshing cooling effect that soothes aches and pains. I also really appreciate that it is 90.74% naturally derived. It does have a stronger smell than the 'Tension Relief' version of this lotion by Village Naturals, but I like it. It's a wintergreen smell like the breath mints. Or Pepto, kinda. But not a bad smell at all! I enjoy it.

I am a massage therapist and also use this on my clients. They all love the smell and the gentle cooling effect. I use Tiger Balm for a more intense cooling effect.

I highly recommend this product.

this is wonderful for aching joints and muscles, very comparable to Ben Gay without harsh chemicals , has a warming cooling effect. I put it on before bedtime and wake feeling much relief in the morning....

Usually I wouldn't post a review when there are already so many, but I feel I have to chime in about the scent of this product. It is NOT wintergreen. Wintergreen is a nice, minty smell. Right? This product smells like MENTHOL. The scent of Bengay, the scent of croaching decrepitude! That business about it containing Juniper, Sage and Wintergreen prominently displayed on the bottle label is all very nice, but Menthol is listed WELL ahead of them on the ingredient list. In fact, the generic "fragrance" is listed even ahead of that. Moreover, you put Menthol in a cage match with wimpy opponents Juniper, Sage and Wintergreen combined, and the winner's going to be menthol hands down.

Okay, so how does the product work independent of the scent? Okay. It immediately provides a kind of cooling sensation. However, I find I have to reapply it as it doesn't seem to last and muscle pain returns. The scent wears off quickly. Well, this is just what I tell myself. I wouldn't purchase Village Naturals Muscle Relief Lotion again, in part because I hate the smell but maybe more so because I feel misled by the product description on Amazon and its very own front label which says nothing about Menthol.

When I found the company was no longer making my favorite muscle pain relief lotion, I tried this with hesitation as I really do not like the smell of wintergreen. My recollection of wintergreen in a muscle relief ointment or lotion was the OVERWHELMING, seemingly NEVER-ENDING ODOR that lingers sometimes days after any pain-relief effects are gone. NOT SO WITH VILLAGE NATUREALS THERAPY MUSCLE RELIEF LOTION. The wintergreen is not overpowering, strongest when first applied but does not leave a lingering aroma. It is NOT SO PUNGENT that it burns or irritates my sinuses like other similar ointments do. My sinuses are extremely sensitive and headaches are frequent from perfumes and such. AGAIN, NOT SO WITH VILLAGE NATURAL PRODUCTS. In fact it is quite the opposite. After using VILLAGE NATURAL PRODUCTS, my sinuses feel open and relieved. As with all other VILLAGE NATURAL THERAPY PRODUCTS I have tried, the results are true pain relief with the side-benefits of soft skin and clearer sinuses.

I am a retired Registered Nurse and am so grateful for simple, affordable pain relief I can use as desired rather than as prescribed.
