I have tried both the Nordic Naturals brand and the New Chapter brand fish oil supplements in addition to this Rainbow Light version. All three are just fine, are high quality, and have minimal aftertaste. But of the three, the Rainbow Light supplement is by far the best deal for what you get, especially if you utilize the Subscribe and Save feature. The ratio of EPA to DHA is correct, and the addition of flax oil is a very nice bonus. For those who have trouble with large pills, I have found that you can snip off the end of one of these capsules easily and pour the oil into a little juice and take it that way, still with no fishy aftertaste.

3 months ago my doctor ordered a full blood panel test for me & the results were my cholesterol being "borderline" bad. My doctor is very picky about her numbers & if something is even a little high she is concerned about it. Well, she suggested that I take fish oil supplements to help bring the cholesterol numbers down & since I already take other supplements from Rainbow Light I picked this one to try.

Now 3 months later I have had yet another cholesterol test for the doctor to see if the numbers went down & yes they have!

My diet has been the same, except I have been taking these fish oil supplements every day, once a day & my cholesterol dropped. I don't know how much, because I was too elated knowing the fish oil worked to ask, but do know that my cholesterol is no longer borderline or high.

I'm on my second bottle now & will continue to keep using these products until they stop making them.

I obviously can't say what this supplement is doing for me when it comes to heart health or brain health... However, I can rate this based on expectations and my opinion of the quality. I trust Rainbow Light's brand very much. I use this fish pill and their vitamin because it has natural ingredients and I have never had a problem. This pill is very easy to swallow and for the most part, doesn't cause the dreaded "fish burps". However, the biggest thing I think you'd rate this pill on is the burps, so I must tell you that you may have the fish burps sometimes. I get them about once a week and only one or two burps at a time.

I know it's funny to talk about burps in a review, but other than that there's not really much to talk about. Follows the doc's recommendations... high quality... includes flax oil... awesome product overall and I'll continue to use it.

I've wanted to start taking an Omega supplement, and I was thrilled that this one also had Flax oil. It is supposed to be formulated for easy digestion, and even many of the reviewers said they had little or none of the burping common to fish oil pills.

However, I took my first one on a full stomach after dinner, and for the rest of the night--and into the next day--I had unpleasant, frequent belching, as well as a stomach ache and general feelings of indigestion. I didn't want to try again.

I don't know why I had such a bad reaction, but apparently this formulation is not for everyone. I will have to keep looking.
