After reading all of the researching touting the health benefits of fish oil, I went to the local supermarket and bought some capsules. But they smelled like fish, and caused some unfortunate fishy burps after using them. So that was the end of that experiment.

However, after being pummeled in the head by the media some more, and after reading about the neutral taste of Nordic Naturals, I decided to try fish oil capsules again. Also I was trying to quit an antidepressant and read that fish oil could help with the withdrawal symptoms. While not offering any medical advice, I will say that I think taking these supplements helped.

When I saw that the Nordic Naturals came in a variant with Vitamin D and were lemon flavored, I was overjoyed. Well, at least mildly enthused, as I could kill two birds with one stone. The lemon flavoring does make a difference, but I also suggest putting your capsules in the freezer to eliminate or further mitigate any fishy aftertaste.

Further, the price on Amazon is great.

Great product but if you buy it from Amazon in the summer and you live in Texas the UPS driver brings you a package that is as hot as the pavement. So my fish oil had already reached 100 degrees for a few hours before I got it. As such the capsules are a little rancid and too soft.

Otherwise I love Amazon and UPS. Just don't get your fish oil this way in the summer.

I can't speak to the actual quality of the contents; I'll have to take their word for that part. But I've been taking these for a few weeks now and have not had a single burp or even the vaguest sensation of fishiness, which makes these an improvement of the Carlson brand I'd been taking before.

I bought this soap from Whole Foods since I have extremely dry skin & prone to eczema outbreaks. I have the liquid almond and the peppermint bar. I was a little skeptical about using the peppermint on my sensitive skin. Overall, I'm impressed, there was tons of lather. The soap rinsed very cleanly. I do have a water softener so I will give some credit to it for helping with my dry skin. I have just one minor hang up with this soap, it did cause a slight tingle with my lady parts. I did like the slight tingle except in the the southern region. Overall, I give four stars because of the tingle, but I really love this soap. I didn't have an issue with the soap melting too quickly but my bar was incredibly hard. I even bought another brand of castile liquid soap "kiss my face" and it doesn't come close to this one. Hopefully, it doesn't get too expensive.

Dr. Bronner may seem a bit wacky, but he makes really, really good soaps. I have used the liquid soaps for years and recently began using his bar soaps. They smell great, lather extremely well and rinse well too. The peppermint scent is strong and soothing, but doesn't leave you smelling like a peppermint candy. It rinses well and is mild enough that I can even wash my hair with it, something I wouldn't do with any other bar soap. The difference with other bar soaps is these bars of soap go fast, two of us would use a bar in less than a week! By compassion, the same size of Ivory last easily twice as long. Dr. Bronner's is worth it to me though. It is definitely worth trying.

I was searching for tooth soap and I came across this on the Dr. Bronner's site:

"For tooth brushing, apply a drop or two of Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap (I prefer the peppermint) to a wet toothbrush. Brush as you normally would, rinsing accordingly. Be careful about using more than a couple drops of soap, as you might start foaming at the mouth (last time I checked "rabid chic" was not hip). Many people with sensitive or softer teeth like to use our soap as toothpaste because it lacks abrasives."

I tried the liquid soap but it was too soapy for me so I decided to try shredding the peppermint bar soap on my cheese grater and have been using only this product on my teeth for about 6 weeks. I use the directions for the other tooth soap shreds found on this site. Using tooth soap instead of toothpaste takes some getting used to but I am hooked. Due to the lack of abrasives, I do use baking soda along with the tooth soap once a week to keep my teeth white.

I have periodontal disease and have to go every three months to the dentist for scaling/cleaning. Last night at I had my quarterly appointment at the dental office my hygienist was pleasantly surprised that she did not have to do hardly any scaling, my gums did not bleed at all, my gums are firmer than before (they take readings) and I had very little sensitivity. Less time in the dentist's chair, WOOT!

I also use the liquid peppermint soap in the shower (tingly lady bits and all) and for my laundry and I will continue to do so.

The 6 pack seems like a good deal here as I usually have to pay 6 dollars a bar. One bar would shred into about a year supply of tooth soap though. Economical even at 6 dollars if you compare it to toothpaste. If you compare it to tooth soap shreds found here it is even more economical as one jar of tooth shreds is about 20 bucks and probably about the same amount as a quarter of a bar of Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Castile soap.

But that's just my opinion :)

I'm a normal guy with normal skin and grew up using Ivory soap. We were visiting friends and they had this soap and I really liked the smell and the way it lathered so we bought some. I've found it last longer than a bar of Ivory and my wife says it doesn't dry her out like Ivory would in the dry winter. I just like the smell and it gets me clean.

I don't buy from companies that test on animals so it leaves me limited since SO many companies test on animals. I thought I'd give Dr. Bronner's soap a try because I've heard how great their products are and I am a fan! It works well and it lasts a long time. Great product and I love that it's good for the environment and for me! Give it a try. You'll agree with me!

I am no wimp but this stuff burned...in a good way so I had to use a 50/50 ratio. My husband used it and thick mucous started coming out which he was not seeing just using a Neti Pot. He is hooked! I felt like someone had stuffed a pack of Kools up my nose or maybe even some Hall's Cough drops cause the Menthol is strong. It burns like hell and I could not handle it straight. I am going to have to work my way up to full strength for sure. This has worked better than anything else we have used previously. We both have ear problems as a result of many years of sinus problems which caused a blockage of the Eustachian Tubes and we were not draining properly. I think with continued use we will finally get some significant relief which again we had not been getting just with saline rinses. We ordered 4 bottles online cause the health food stores were charging almost $8 per bottle.

This stuff I thought was going to kill me when I first used it and had to use it very diluted. The key I learned is to use DISTILLED WATER not tap water!!! There must be a chemical reaction when Alkalol is mixed with tap water, possibly since tap water has chlorine (bleach) and flouride in it!

With the distilled water...no pain or burn at all. It was pleasant and soothing. The results have been amazing!!! If you have sinus problems, get this and the distilled water.

I'm a long term allergy sufferer and chronic sinus infections are the norm for me. I've had allergies since teenage years, have done every bit of everything possible including allergy shots, ENT doctors, MRI's, homeopathic, prescription, nose sprays and saline sprays. I've tried every combination, dosage and antibiotic. Many times.

For several years large volume saline wash was my prescription for some limited amount of relief, mainly the NeilMed Sinus Rinse Regular Kit 1 kit. It helps, but my sinuses are so swollen at times that the water doesn't all want to come out even when leaning forward, and as it trickles out throughout the day or night I get earaches from it running over the Eustachian tubes. The exhaustion, complete tiredness, groggy foggy mind that comes from it? All of that. Hopefully that's enough to give you an idea of my level of suffering from sinus and allergy problems.

On a personal recommendation I decided to try this product. It took me 2 or 3 bottles to figure out how it best worked for me. At first, it definitely wasn't hurting but I couldn't tell how much it was helping. Many people dilute it, and I found for me I'm best off to use it full strength. Rather than a whole bottle of saline, or this mixed with saline, using just an ounce or so of this, just enough to rinse from each side to the other, has been enough to bring me a new level of relief and decongestion. I choose to use the bottle that came with my NeilMed kit rather than the rinser that comes with this kit. Being someone who has to watch the BP, I also have to stay way from the decongestants and this has been a great alternative. I find this especially helpful to use an hour or two before bed and using far less liquid means I have much less issue with drainage at night like with the saline in a higher volume.

Not to get too explicit, but this is the first product that not only decongests my nose but also causes me to need to spit after I've used it.

When I used it mixed with saline, I had mediocre results. It had a good smell but really didn't get at decongesting me. At full strength I get the results I'd hoped for, but I doubt someone could start using this product full strength. It takes some time to get used to the momentary burn you get after it drains out-a little bit like smelling salts or having a soda bubble back up into your nose. And that being said, I don't have "rebound issues" like you can with prescription saline sprays that cause you to get really congested again right after it runs out.

The smell of the product is very much like a menthol, and while it doesn't smell like Vicks "vapo-rub" it can have a similar effect on the nose, and "punches you right in the face" for a second or two after using it. But it works. It's not so bad to make me tear up or anything like that.

On the downside, the bottles aren't that big. If you plan to completely replace your saline routine like I have (mostly), it can get to be a little expensive. As well, if you travel you'll have to check it since it's already liquid, whereas the saline packets travel well but require clean water at your destination. On the other hand, even a bottle a week is still in the general vicinity of a prescription nose spray.

So in summary: This product is now my product of choice. It took me 2-3 bottles to figure out how it was most effective for me, and other than cost, I have yet to discover any downsides. I can't call it a miracle like others, but it does help me stay functional and "non-funky" in the nose department. I waited more than a month before writing my review to give adequate opinion time.

I bought 3 bottles of this stuff a year or so ago, and found it too strong to use. It sat in my closet until I recently started using it after my antibiotics became less effective. I mix this at about a 40%alkalol/60%warm water solution. It opens up my nasal passages as good as afrin, and has no rebound effect. I will probably be using this product for quite some time. I am one that has the absolute worst allergy and sinus problems. Antibiotics have worked great in the best but are not sustainable......

UPDATE: This product has completely healed my sinus's. I use it in the morning and night, and have no more infections or congestion. Make no mistake about it either, I had some of the worst sinus problems that existed.

Further Update: I use this product now in combination with a nasal irrigator (electric type). It cleans some nasty buildup in my nose and has brought me either further relief and improvement. I use above 4 ounces of this to 16 ounces of salt water. Great relief!

Sinus irrigation is rapidly gaining recognition from academic researchers and practicing physicians as a key tool in avoiding and treating sinus infections. (It is also necessary to control allergies and correct physical blockages.)

Saline solutions work well enough at prevention, and there are recipes for the solutions all over the internet. When you actually have a sinus infection, Alkalol can have a real impact. My personal experience is that infections clear much quicker when Alkalol is added to the sinus irrigation mix.

Key tip: start with a very small proportion of Alkalol in your saline solution, say 10%. Increase the strength to find where you are comfortable. Not only is this effective, it is very pleasant. You may end up using it routinely. Alkalol works well with any delivery system (neti pots, nasal douches, sprays) EXCEPT systems using the WaterPik pump. It gums up the pump.

LOL. When i received this product i was happy. I enjoyed thinking that this will stop my itching scalp. It is a oil, and the smell it is good.
