I purchased the Eucris Hard Shaving Soap by Geo F. Trumpers after having been a long-time lover of the Sandalwood scent of the same product. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the Sandalwood scent has been off of the market for some time as I write this. Immediately upon opening up the Eucris soap, though, I knew I'd made a good decision.

The quality of Geo. F. Trumper's shaving soap has been lauded many times before. It dependably produces a rich, luxurious lather. A single 80g bar can last an average guy 4-6 months, easily. As a DE user with somewhat sensitive skin, I've yet to encounter any type of breakout I'd associate with this soap. My skin feels healthy, not dried out. The shave itself is entirely comfortable, as the lather provides an exquisite lubricant to prevent any sort of skip or pull from the razor.

The fragrance of any Trumper's soap is on the subtle side of the spectrum, it will go largely undetected by those outside of your personal space, possibly reserving most of the smell for you and your wife as she kisses you goodbye in the morning...but really, that's a good thing. Lighter fragrance, for most guys, will mean that it is less likely to cause irritation on sensitive skin. Also, it's far better than the alternative of having your coworkers be able to smell you coming when you get out of your car.

The wooden bowl is stylish, not something you need to tuck away and pull out each morning. It can be left out on the vanity counter as an accent piece; I've personally found that my razor stand sits neatly right atop the bowl, in fact.

All told, I have not a single complaint regarding this product. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is chasing after the perfect shave.

I'm a Proraso man, but I ordered this Trumpers produce mostly for the black bowl. My girlfriend wanted to display my razor, brush and soap in our bathroom and this fit the decor nicely.

The Eucris smells great and provides a nice lather. Takes more time to make than Proraso, but that is to be expected.

I couldn't justify the price for everyday use, but for something special it's a nice soap.

You truly get what you pay for with this quality product. I was completely unfamiliar with Geo F. Trumper before trying this product but will be a repeat customer because of my experience with it. This soap produces a smooth, great smelling and generous lather. It is extremely dense and after daily usage for the last several months, appears as though it will be quite some time (many months at least) before I need to order more. The wooden bowl is very nice and produces a vastly superior tactile experience vs. the plastic alternative from leading competitors. I highly recommend this product.

You can read people try to describe it but you truly can't understand until its in front of you. The black soap box and talk of coriander was enough for me to give it a try. To me it is as the smell of a forest covered in moss. My wife thinks I'm crazy to use it, but I'm hooked. Rich lather, and a smell that will put hair on your chest which you can then use this to shave, if you are so inclined. Highly recommend.

I am only writing about the scent, not lather.

I bought this for the smell of coriander. I thought it would be a clean fresh smell, I was wrong. It is defiantly a MAN smell, it is not light at all. It is closely like Williams mug soap with more of a peppery undertone.
