I have tried this oil the last couple of shaves and think it is fantastic. One has to be careful as to the amount of oil to pour into their hand(s) as it is fluid and not stiff/thick like some other oils. I believe it did a great job in that I used it as a base to lather and then used a DE razor. I just wrote a review for another oil, which I will not name as a courtesy, but it was way too thick and hard to spread, whereas this oil is thicker than water and yet not too thick (watery syrup comes to mind), easy to spread and stays in place. I did not notice any smell good or bad, so I am neutral on that which in my mind is good as you want the after shave / cologne to be the scent that you have when finished shaving. The cost is 1/3 of most of the other oils which is a plus, yet there are a couple of oils that this is twice as much as, so I will try those as well to see if a lower price is any indicator of quality of product. From what I found with the other oil, cost does not equate to quality. Would highly recommend this oil and will probably be getting more.

I have very sensitive skin on my neck with a heavy beard so a pre-shave oil is a must for me. I've tried many on the market in all price ranges and was pleasantly surprised to find this Northwest Scents oil. I had never heard of it prior to finding it on Amazon and I was a bit skeptical at first. This is actually a good oil. I use it under a moisturizing shave cream and my shaving is virtually irritation free. Unlike many of the expensive brands, this comes in a plastic, not glass, bottle, which for me is a plus because I shave in the shower and glass is just too dangerous. The lavender scent is just ok, nothing to write home about. It seems a bit strong at first but the scent doesn't linger. If you're experimenting with different oils, this is worth a try.

I was needing an inexpensive shave oil and bought this bottle. The shave oil works ok, but the lavender scent is very faint. Also, I think the oil has gotten old since it has a trace of rancid oil smell.
