This is not the same as the lemon eucalyptus that is used in insect repellents. The ingredients on the bottle are "Pure lemon oil, pure eucalyptus oil & pure lemongrass oil." The lemon eucalyptus used in insect repellents is called Eucalyptus citriodora and it is derived from the leaves of the lemon eucalyptus tree. I think it is a little misleading to call this "lemon eucalyptus."

That said, it does smell nice and I will probably find a use for it eventually.

I purchased this becasue I live in Texas and mosquitos are horrible here. I diluted the oil with water in a bottle and when I go for a run or work in the garden I spray it on myself. Works really well for about two hours and then you have to reapply. Make sure you SPRAY the oil ALL over your body. Every time I miss a spot that's where the mosquito ends up biting me. MAke sure you spray it on your clothes as well otherwise mosquitos will bite you through your shirt....

There is nothing wrong with this EO except it doesn't work very well as an insect repellent by itself. I'll try and combine it with some other EO's to see if that works better.

time as lemon with eucalyptus is a little too pungent for my liking!
