I was given this electric air freshener by my father who for as long as I can remember has HATED anything scented. He's always hated incense and scented candles even most fragrances in the smallest amounts. Needless to say I was surprised that he recommended any type of air freshener. I'm very careful about the products I bring into my home so I've never used an electric air freshener before. I think this has changed that though. I really LOVE it! Its a very pleasant amount of scent. Really just right. I can smell it in 3 rooms(I put it in the small hallway between the bedroom bathroom and studio/office). Its not overpowering and it does not take over the whole house. I think maybe the negative reviewer was looking for something more powerful, more like the regular chemical based products that are more prevalent on the market. If you are looking for something gentle and natural that won't make your nose sting this is it. I love that I get that little waft of scent but can still smell other things in the house. I need to get some outlet adapters (mine are mostly sideways) I can put one in the bathroom and living room! Really a great product!

I love this method of scenting the house. It's light but definitely constantly detectable and fresh (until empty). Most important to me is that's it's not a chemical scent that will give off potentially harmful toxins, but rather a natural oil that I can enjoy without a headache etc. I also love that you don't have to change it too often just plug it in and you're good to go for probably a month. Totally worth the cost to me to have a fresh smelling home all the time without much hassle. I put one in each of our two bathrooms so far and they are the freshest smelling rooms in the house. I can smell the scent a bit in the hallways and very lightly in nearby rooms outside the bathrooms too. I like it so much I'm thinking of getting a few more plug-ins for other rooms in the house I think these are even gentle enough for the nursery near the diaper pail. :) The lavender is highly recommended. I would caution to give it a day or two to fully reach it's constant scent. At first I was worried it didn't really work because it took awhile to work up to it's full scent. I used to use the Meyers scented oils (until they were discontinued) and they were more powerful and quicker to detect, but I don't find that they were necessarily superior I don't think they lasted as long and at times if the door to the bathroom was shut it was even a bit overpowering. Still, I was so bummed when the Meyer's oils were discontinued since they were the only one of their kind I knew of. I'm elated to have found the Aura Cacia and have natural herbed oils doing their work once more and I think even better than the Meyers. Also, the plug-in itself is more attractive and less "in-your-face" than the Meyer's plug-in which stuck out from the wall quite a bit. Although I like the product, the oil burns through quickly and you are left with all these empty bottles that need recycling, only to have to buy more. I went through 7 in one month. If only they sold a large bottle of oil that you could refill the small ones with I would buy this for the rest of my life.... Please come up with a more sustainable product!I absolutely love all of the Aura Cacia air fresheners you can use with this diffuser. They smell great and really work well and the air smells great, even near the litter boxes, BUTthey run out SO quickly. I would say once plugged in the smell lasts about 15 days. I still buy the refills, which are about $6 dollars because I have a house with four cats and am just desperate for it to smell nice! But definitely expensiveI really wish they could find a way to make the refill last longeror make it bigger. There is no scent unless you stand right over it. It does notdissipate into the air and the refills don't last more than a week.
