This review is written on Cape Fear Naturals "Eucalyptus Deodorant".
First off, I have sensitive pits...I cannot use products with aluminun or most/any off the shelf type deodorants or anitperspirants in general. So over the past couple of years I began the great trial by fire of the all natural deodorants and more boutique product lines that I could find.
I am pretty picky about my products and I do not have issue trying more pricey options if they work better. I have used the Malin +Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant, Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Antiperspirant Deodorant Stick , Anothony Logistics for Men, Men's Science Advance Deodorant, Jason's, Tom's of Maine, Burt's Bees, etc. Many of these products do work rather well.
Malin + Goetz's Eucalyptus product works well and is one of my favorites but I have always had problems with the stick breaking rather early (mid stick early) which is a little enfuriating with an 18 dollar price tag. No problems with skin irritation or odor issues.
Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Antiperspirant Deodorant Stick works extremely well and is also an antiperspirant for around 17 dollars plus shipping. Good product, again no irritation and good odor control. Stick does not break and it can be found at department stores though it is even more pricey at these locales.
Anthony's Logostics for Men's deodorant stick was a tad bit harsh for my skin and while I like the light scent to it, it never really seemed to provide good long lasting odor protection. If I used the product for extended amount of time...usually around the week mark I would start to see my under arms getting a bit irritated.
In the "all natural" realm for products:
Jason's all natural tea tree scent and aloe scent sticks worked well for me though the odor protection wasn't always there. I would recommend this product as I have had particularily good luck with the Tea Tree scent. It is also easier to find off the shelf in some vitamin shops.
The Tom's of Maine and Burt Bees line never seemed to last for me in the odor protection department and needed a reapply after lunch.
So after delaying a bit on trying the lower priced option of Cape Fear Naturals due mainly to the fact there were no reviews on it....the real winner after much trial and error has been the Cape Fear Natural Eucalyptus Deodorant (for me)...I have never had any problems with skin irritation using this product (it seems to help my skin in fact) and I have no problem with odor popping up during the day. The scent comes off a little strong when you first apply it but settles quickly. Some of the other natural deodorant companies seem to need a reapply around midday as I mentioned but this product just lasts and lasts even with moderate sweating in a hot enviroment. The product goes on well, a little slimy to start but dries quickly with a nice refreshing scent for your morning that does dissapates quickly...all for 3.95 (plus shipping) here on Amazon.com.
So, there are some good options coming out now for those of use with skin allergies to aluminium or strong scented deodorant products. There are some good (pricier) boutique options to choose from and but if you are looking for a great product that just works, is less expensive, and reliable....in my opinion a good contender is right here with Cape Fear Naturals Eucalptus for a quarter/third of the price.Smell like our friends down under and it's a bit sticky. This deodorant certainly works better than the hemp. It can be a bit irritating to the skin as well. It also contains most of the same ingredients you find in other deodorants, but less quality.If you are searching for a truly naturally made deodorant, a deodorant that won't cause your underarms to break out in terrible rashes caused by all sorts of irritating and potentially harmful ingredients found in every single deodorant and antiperspirant you've tried so far, then your search may very well be finally over! For whatever reason, a couple of years ago I developed a sudden and quite severe allergic reaction to the deodorant/antiperspirant I had been using for years. My underarms broke out in red, intensely itchy bumps, and I would scratch and scratch the rash until it would become inflamed. Only when I stopped using the deodorant would the rashes go away. I knew I had to find a different deodorant, one without any aluminum sulfates or other irritating chemicals in the list of ingredients. After many dollars wasted from purchasing all kinds of deodorants claiming to be 100% natural, (and each one causing the same horrible rash), I finally discovered Cape Fear Naturals here on Amazon. Here is a deodorant that uses only 100% natural ingredients, and it works. Best of all, my underarms don't break out from using it. I have tried the Tea Tree and the Eucalyptus scents, and they both have done well for me. I prefer the Eucalyptus only because it seems to be somewhat lighter of a scent than the Tea Tree variety. But, neither scent is over-powering. If you have sensitive underarms, please give this product a try.
