I also read some negative reviews of it online (other sites) from people who clearly did not follow the directions to "shake well before using". All the natural oils need to be stirred up so the fragrance can come alive.

John, the owner of the business is a nice guy and provides good customer service. It's obvious he is proud of his products and stands behind them. Something way too rare these days.

To sum things up, (if you can't already tell) I highly recommend Ogallala Bay Rum products. Ignore the negative reviews. True Bay Rum fans will love these colognes and aftershaves. Put down the Pinaud and try these.

This aftershave is great, but the "Special Reserve Double Strength Bay Rum Cologne" is my favorite from what Ogallala offers and definitely the best Bay Rum I've ever tried.

As I have been trying alot of bay rums lately, had to get this one due to all of the good reviews (with the exception of a few negative ones). The bottle was packed very well, and arrived very fast. I think in just a few days. When I opened the cap to have a smell, it had a strong woodsy medicinal scent, that was not unpleasant, but not what I expected. However, after trying it out after a shave, I absolutely love the burn. This burn lasts for a good few minutes, and really has a punch. The medicinal smell starts to fade after a few minutes, and you are left with a scent that becomes as addictive as Captain's Choice (maybe even more so). It has a sweet, cinnamon, touch of vanilla fragrance. I love putting this on. Almost want to roll in it. I always have to put it on my t-shirt as well, as the fragrance lasts all day this way (not that it does'nt last on your skin, just lasts longer on clothing). All in all, I love it, and actually bought a second bottle of regular strength cologne. They are both fine products, and I will continue to use Ogallala bay rum.

this stuff smells wonderful women i dont even know comment on it and ask what it is there is absolutley no burn even after the closest shave i have used 3 of there aftershaves and like them all the shaving soap is great also

I have bought many bottles of this aftershave and think it is great. Yet it is obviously not for everyone. If you want to be trendy and smell like something else besides what men have used in the past, do not buy this product. But if you want a fresh "original" smell try this aftershave. I love the smell (and so does my wife). Why pay exuberant prices for the name brand, heavily displayed aftershaves? This product is less expensive, not over-powering, and feels good, especially after shaving with no alcohol burning sensation. Splash it on freely, it even makes the bathroom smell good.
