What they are selling as essential oils are NOT. They are PERFUME oils, which legally is a whole different thing. Essential oils are made from plant materials only. Perfume oils are made from synthetic chemicals. Also, essential oils are not all the same price, the price fluctuates wildly with each product (I paid $28 for 1/16th oz. sandalwood oil...rose, jasmine, narcissus, and others will set you back HUNDREDS for a tiny vial!) There IS no essential oil of violet, lilac, or many others. People who do massage work, or aromatherapy cannot use synthetics, because they do not have the health properties of plant material, and can even be harmful. Such mislabeling should not be allowed because people just starting out might think they're really getting something when they're not. Also, essential oils are sold in dark coloured bottles to keep light from deteriorating the delicate oil. There is a lot of this misleading labeling on here.
