I literally get compliments from people on the street when I use this shampoo (and not so much when I don't use it). I suspect that reviewers who had bad experiences didn't leave it on their hair for the right amount of time. Read the instructions on an RF product, as the times vary according to what the product does. In this case, too little time and you get brassiness; too much and you're that little old lady with blue-purple hair. If I wash my hair first, leave the shampoo on while I wash the rest of me, and then rinse it out everything works out perfectly. I use an RF conditioner-rinse for shine as well that's a quick on & off so I still don't wait around for the timer to finish.

I have purchased this product many times. I have highlighted brown hair, but over time the really light highlights get dull and gold-colored from minerals in your water. Use this once a week after you shampoo in place of a 2nd lather. Leave on 2-3 minutes and rinse well. Your hair may be more tangled than normal but your conditioner will take care of that. Don't use too often or your highlights will go from really light blonde to grayish.
