The true dose is only revealed by adding the EPA and the DHA. One softgel has 216 mg of EPA and 144 mg of DHA. So, one softgel has 360 mg of helpful fish oil and the remaining 840 mg is filler fish oil.

I wanted to try fish oil because of the cardio benefits and also heard of the stress reducing, mood stabalizing benefits of omega-3's that came with it. At first though I was a bit weary to try fish oil because of the dreaded "fish belches" but then I was informed by a friend they were entric coated which means they don't get fully absorbed by the body until they reach the lower intestine. Let me tell you, I didn't experience any indigestion or any fishy aftertaste after taking it, and i've been taking it for roughly 2 weeks now. Too soon to tell if it's helping me in the cardiovascular sense. but I have definitely noticed an improvement in my mood. You can obviously try any brand, but i noticed in my supermarket that nature made was 40% off if you bought 2 of them, so probably no need to buy them on Amazon as they are sold pretty much anywhere, not to mention they have an excellent rewards program.

I can't say enough about taking fish oil supplements with omega 3. I've been on prescription antidepressants before for anxiety and while they worked I also gained weight and had trouble getting off of them (this was in college). Fast forward to my first baby, and postpartum depression started to kick in I had very high, sudden anxiety brought on by all the hormones. I was absolutely panicked about bad things happening and just couldn't enjoy my new baby, I was sad and weepy all the time, crying constantly for no apparent reason.

I'm also expecting my second child, due any day now, and am happy to report that my blood pressure has been great something I struggled with towards the end of my last pregnancy. I do believe the fish oil supplements have something to do with it.
Finally, while there are many brands of fish oil/omega 3 supplements out there, I have been more than pleased to find this "burpless" product by Nature Made. I've always taken the fish oil supplement at night before bed, since I'm less likely to be conscious during the gross fish burps, but they still would occur as I was dozing off. The burpless factor of these supplements really makes all the difference! Since starting with this brand a month ago I haven't had one fishy burp, I'm so pleased. I was willing to suffer through the fish burps because these supplements are so worth it, and I believe EVERYONE should take this supplement! But the burpless by Nature Made just makes these that much better.

This product has amazed me. I did not believe the "burpless" claim, but I've been taking this for weeks now and NO BURPS, NO FISH TASTE EVER!!!! Amazing. I've recommended this to at least twenty people now and will continue to do so. Great product! Made me a believer.
