I initially used Barleans brand of cod liver oil because it was rated well. I found the softgels at a little local shop so with no other immediate options I bought them. I have chronic inflammation that was deciding to go beyond my coping levels. I was directed to take 2-3 grams of fish oil a day. This product started making a difference for me within a week. That was 5 weeks ago. And here I am looking to buy it in bulk because I feel so much better. Of all the things I am doing now, I would say that Barlean's lemonade cod liver oil sofgels have made 30% of the difference.

Although the labels look the same on the liquid oil and the softgel bottles, read the ingredients carefully they are not the same at all. You would have to double the suggested use of the softgels to get the same as the liquid for most ingredients. Vit D however is virtually non-existent in the softgels. I called the manufactured and the customer support person could not explain the reason for this. But be careful trying to take more than the suggested amount as the gel itself can cause constipation, according to the manufacturer. Perhaps that is why the softgels have less than the oils? He didn't say.Barlean's is a highly recommended brand, and not only is this product organic, but the price is great too! Great for your health. The capsules are very large, but I don't have any trouble swallowing them. If you need a smaller capsule, I would go with the New Chapter brand or Garden of Life brand.I am a living testimony to the results of Cod Liver Oil. I wish I had got onto these earlier. I am male and 59 years old and have just about completed a course of my first ever bottle of 100 1000mg soft gels (Barlean's). I take one capsule a day only. My wife is now starting to use them as she has witnessed the results I've experienced.Earlier in life I played soccer and rugby for many years (now I just snowboard). The workout I gave my knees must have been causing the very discomforting aches I'd feel every morning in my knees (as soon as I woke up). Sometimes the pain woke me up while sleeping, making for uncomfortable restless nights.
WOW, WOW! Within days (3 days) I had absolutely no joint pain or discomfort and 6 weeks later still absolutely pain free. Totally true.
I'm so appreciative of the person who recommended cod liver oil. I just happened to pick these up as the first one's to ever try and they work. One a day and it works!!!
There ya go!if you're looking for a vit d boost you're not gonna find it here. it's really low in vit d. but my kids do love them. my son calls them 'black jelly beans' and he loves the flavor. i probably won't buy these again because i'd like a fish oil that has at least 400 iu of vitamin d but these are great in that they taste good and contain no harmful PCB's, lead, mercury, or other contaminants.
