I really liked all three products in the range (cleanser, conditioner and styling gel). Carlos comes to London 3-4 times a year to cut my hair. I trust him as he has had curls himself. He is also one of the few to cut curls when they are dry. Most hairdressers do it wet and totally mis-judge things. I am glad all his years of `trial and error' with other products has paid off and allowed him to create these great products. I had a friend visit NY so I had them delivered to the hotel as its not possible to get them delivered to London (at the moment via Amazon) but hopefully that will change soon. You can get them delivered here from his own website but the delivery charges are v high (not his fault).

I initially used Barleans brand of cod liver oil because it was rated well. I found the softgels at a little local shop so with no other immediate options I bought them. I have chronic inflammation that was deciding to go beyond my coping levels. I was directed to take 2-3 grams of fish oil a day. This product started making a difference for me within a week. That was 5 weeks ago. And here I am looking to buy it in bulk because I feel so much better. Although the labels look the same on the liquid oil and the softgel bottles, read the ingredients carefully they are not the same at all. You would have to double the suggested use of the softgels to get the same as the liquid for most ingredients. Vit D however is virtually non-existent in the softgels. I called the manufactured and the customer support person could not explain the reason for this. But be careful trying to take more than the suggested amount as the gel itself can cause constipation, according to the manufacturer. Perhaps that is why the softgels have less than the oils? He didn't say.

Barlean's is a highly recommended brand, and not only is this product organic, but the price is great too! Great for your health. The capsules are very large, but I don't have any trouble swallowing them. If you need a smaller capsule, I would go with the New Chapter brand or Garden of Life brand.

I am a living testimony to the results of Cod Liver Oil. I wish I had got onto these earlier. I am male and 59 years old and have just about completed a course of my first ever bottle of 100 1000mg soft gels (Barlean's). I take one capsule a day only. My wife is now starting to use them as she has witnessed the results I've experienced.

Earlier in life I played soccer and rugby for many years (now I just snowboard). if you're looking for a vit d boost you're not gonna find it here. it's really low in vit d. but my kids do love them. my son calls them 'black jelly beans' and he loves the flavor. i probably won't buy these again because i'd like a fish oil that has at least 400 iu of vitamin d but these are great in that they taste good and contain no harmful PCB's, lead, mercury, or other contaminants.

Anyone who is concerned about the use of chemicals in commercial bug sprays. Just mix a few drops of citronella oil, witch hazel and some distilled water (and you will need to mix with water because man, it's strong!) into one of those tiny mist bottles and the bugs won't go near you. Just be careful not to make the scent too concentrated or no one else will want to go near you either.

But it's excellent as a natural bug repellent.

The NOW citronella oil is a terrific product for making your own personal insect (particularly mosquito) repellent in the summer, and at this price for two you can make yourself two small bottles of it. Just use any small pump bottle (I re-use other repellent product bottles which have been used up, like Cutter and Repel, or else buy the cheap travel size spray bottles in the dollar aisle), empty one of these 1 oz bottles entirely into it, then pour any oil of your choice such as olive, baby, almond etc. into the remainder of the bottle. Shake the contents, and you are ready to apply to your skin. Though other "herbal" or aromatic oils also repel bugs, in my opinion the citronella does the best job of any others, and it truly smells much milder with this method than buying a product that has it as an ingredient, most of which make you smell like a patio candle. It cannot be applied by itself because it is too strong and is not recommended, but combined with an oil (I use olive) and mixed, it is absorbed by your body and the smell is very faint and extremely non-offensive to others.

We mix a few drops in a water spray bottle and spray around the trim of the floor and in front of the doors. It works at deterring insects from coming in and the ones that do die pretty quickly or at least become very slow and disoriented. Works on all the insects we have struggled with including spiders, roaches, and bees. The smell is pleasant also.

I tried making an oil mix spray for mosquito repellant since I live in the woods. I have a bunch of herbs and such on my back deck and going out to grab some lead me to come back in (five minutes later) with at least 5-10 new bites. I was sick of spraying myself down with deet for such a short trip outside so I bought this stuff. It seems to work okay from what I see... but it is very strong and will linger for a very long time. I'm not 100% sure if it works excellent due to me not being out there over a long period of time but the initial application seems to keep the bugs away.

Oh, and my boyfriend. Keeps him away, too.

A less expensive alternative to Toms of Maine Peppermint with Baking Soda, that I had been using since 1990. When Tom's reduced their tube size and the price hit over $6 a tube, I started looking for an alternative. Note: if you don't normally use a "natural" toothpaste, give it time, they take a bit to get used to (and then if you have to go back you won't believe how unbelievably sweet conventional toothpaste is). Overall, I like this Trader Joes product. The one con? It is very stiff getting it out of the tube. A slightly more pliable reformulation would be very welcome. But the price, at about half of the cost of Tom's, is most welcome.

I only recently started using natural toothpastes after realizing how much the big brands had been wearing away at my enemal (per dentist visit) and contained articifial sweeteners. This brand is like a dollar cheaper than toms but works pretty much the same way and whitens pretty well with the baking soda. It really does take some getting used to but I feel better knowing that I am actually doing good for my teeth. I do NOt like the lavender toothpaste they have. I'll stick with the mint. Will probably continue to buy this as long as it's available.

I love this toothpaste and my dentist is impressed with the lack of tartar buildup on my teeth. I like the strong peppermint taste.

But dear god, it takes strength to push it out of the tube. I keep a 3 pound weight on it once it's opened and it will s-l-o-w-l-y squeeze out. It's also more solid than a lot of toothpastes and if one isn't careful, it will fall into the sink unused.

I've been using this for a while. First, it's a great way to get the fish oils that they say we should eat a couple of times a week (apparently to reduced the risk of certain cardio-vascular diseases). I am not able to comment about that, but I can say my skin looks better and less dry when I eat this regularly. Secondly, it doesn't taste like fish at all. In fact, I preferred the unflavored until Barleans stopped making the unflavored. However, the Orange and the Lemon are good too. I use them on salads, instead of normal oil, where I do not mind a lemon or orange flavor. I also add it to food after being cooked (fish oil cannot be used for cooking because it changes the properties of the oil). The down side is that it's relatively expensive and must be used quickly (several weeks?) after opening. However, I do not like taking capsules and the liquid is much easier, so this product is right for me.

I have been taking about 2 tsp. of this ultra-pure, high-potency fish oil a day for about 18 months now. My diet had been very deficient in long-chain Omega 3's for 40+ years, and this was likely responsible for my struggle with depression, anxiety and ADHD. I was hoping Fresh Catch would enable me to wean off Wellbutrin XL, which I depended upon to keep my mood stable and brain focused. I am happy to report that it worked and it tastes fine to me!

Since I had not changed my diet (a "fair" virtually-vegan diet with a fresh green juice or smoothie several times a week) during this time period and had all but let exercise go, I think this supplement was solely responsible. With my doctor's permission, I began weaning off my med a few months after I began taking Fresh Catch. After about 6 months, I no longer needed it. That was about a year ago, and I have had no mental health or any health problems since that time.

A tsp of Fresh Catch has 4.5 gr of fat but provides at least 850 mg of EPA and 550 mg of DHA plus another 340 mg of other Omega 3's. I took it twice a day with my vitamins. It produced great results even though I was caring for an elderly parent who had dementia at the time I weaned off Wellbutrin. This fish oil worked much better for me than it had. Not only did my mood remain stable, my impulse control and focus improved and so did my memory. I now even tolerate gluten better than I did a year ago no more arthritis-like pain when I eat gluten products regularly even though I have cut back to 1 tsp per day. The side effects are all good!

I highly recommend this fish oil or a comparable algae supplement, but be careful to buy from a trusted source. Dr. Barlean has an excellent reputation. He uses an independent lab to confirm the potency and purity of all his products. He also uses a self-sealing, air-tight bottle to limit oxidation that needs refrigeration only after opening. An 8-oz bottle provides 47 servings (1 tsp), which is very inexpensive when considering the potency.
