Back story: I blog. When Amazon created the opportunity to link products with topics in a blog and give a few coins for any sales a blog generates, I signed on. My recent blog concerned Restless Legs Syndrome and Mirapex, a medication to counter RL's terrible effects. With the new Amazon link, a list of products appears in a sidebar: book, pharmacy, and MyoMed P.R.O. Restless Legs Syndrome Relief.

I doubted, but I ordered anyway. It came in the mail yesterday. I immediately opened the box and found the shaving cream type pump product. Sat down and examined the container. It is designed to use upside down on legs. However, the sheet of instructions also includes all these other uses for MyoMed. Yeah, right, I thought. This will be a miracle product, if it even halfway works.

Pumped (take that two ways). For Restless Legs the places to rub the cream are the bottoms of the feet (a kind of reflexology, I thought). Wow, how cool! I mean that literally. Warning: The aroma is quite strong--medicinal, particularly mentholated. It'll open your sinuses, for sure. Then treat the Restless Legs problem areas--along the shin bone and through the calves. Ow, how painful, but rub anyway. So cool! Next the two pressure points above the knees and the two behind the knees (just as in fibromyalgia).

While I was at it, I rubbed the cream onto my left ankle and foot, my neck, tops of shoulders, area around left elbow, and small of back. Let's see how this works on old injuries and fibromyalgia. Took a brief nap. When I awoke, I stood up immediately, forgetting this horribly painful left foot I've been dragging around for a couple of months.

Years (and years and years) ago, when I was a young teacher, I was practicing basketball with other teachers and students for a Student-Teacher Basketball Game. One girl--in fun and frustration--took my arm and slung me around. When she let go, I fell on my left foot, painfully spraining my ankle. It took forever for that foot to heal. Years later I discovered during x-rays for another ankle injury that I had cracked a bone in that foot and it didn't heal properly. Periodically, pain in that area flares up. This time I've had real problems with the pain and walking without limping. (I'm old and don't want to walk old.)

I could NOT believe it!! All the pain was gone in my foot. I could put my weight down fully and walk completely normally. My legs felt better, but the real test would be at night when I went to bed. Note: Absolutely no problem there either, but I had also taken my old medication instead of the new which did not work.

All my family members also have pain of some sort--we are all getting old. I made a special trip to try out MyoMed on them. My 89-year-old mother has two bad knees which are devastating this woman who hates to have anyone do anything for her. She gardens sitting in a chair and bending over. That's how bad her pain is. I rubbed MyoMed into her knees and the four pressure points. After 15 minutes she stood without a problem.

Rubbed MyoMed into my brother's hand, which cramps into a claw in the morning. In a few minutes he was opening and closing his hand without pain. My sister-in-law also has ankle and leg pain, so I rubbed her feet and legs. She also felt relief.

Second day: When I got up this morning, I stepped gingerly on my foot, forgetting that I had used MyoMed. A little pain, but not much. I could walk easily without limping.

Product details: The pump can itself says: Deep Penetrating, High Potency, Natural Homeopathic Ingredients. Professional Strength Greaseless Relief Creme, 70 Year Old Proven Formula Made With Nature's Finest Essential Oils. These include Menthol, Oil of Camphor, Methyl Salicylate, Eucalyptol Oil, and Oil of Pine Needle.

Under the Other Ingredients label, these items appear: Water, Menthol, Hybris Safflower Oil, Seed Oil, Sunflower Oil, Aloe Vera, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Urea, and some long chemical-type words (ex. Propylene Glycol).

Other uses: Sprains, strains, fibromyalgia, arthritis, sciatica, cramps, colds. Speeds healing of minor cuts, abrasions, and bruises.

I am truly shocked that I am the first person to review this product because of its efficacy! It works!

Edit: My foot received relief which lasted one day. MyoMed does not help the pain at all now, but it still works for RL!

I found MyoMed P.R.O. for Restless Leg Syndrome Relief while browsing online about three years ago. I have been plagued with restless legs for more than 15 years. I would give MyoMed ten stars if you had that choice. I can sleep finally and no longer pace like I used to do for literally hours while reading. My friends have tried it for arthritis, sciatica, and neck pain. They ended up buying one from me so I have reordered several times. The price is more than reasonable. The guy in AZ who didn't like it must have put it on over his clothes!

The Herpes Simplex virus (or HSV) is a difficult disease. It is widely known as incurable, with painful skin lesions on sensitive areas of the body. The lesions reccur more often for some people than others their 'outbreaks' tend to be related to periods of high-stress. Modern medicine does not offer a cure, though there are pharmaceutical preparations available to limit the frequency and duration of HSV outbreaks. With a reputation as 'incurable', 'painful', 'not-so-pretty', and varieties described as 'oral and labial' or 'genital', the disease can be a little challenging and embarrasing to say the least.

Well, I've been through this. I've had the painful lesions, had to deal with the regular outbreaks of painful cold-sores in my mouth and on my lips (I was blessed with the 'oral' variety). I've been through those great internal debates on how to break the news to a partner (thankfully always returning that look that says something like 'Oh! I thought you were going to tell me my cat just died...that's no big deal'). Though it still seemed like a big deal. Regularly having those few days of feeling like a flu was coming on, followed by a few days of outbreak at what always seemed like the worst of times. On top of it, being an athlete, training really hard tended to cause outbreaks as well weightlifting in particular. Maybe it was just really strenuous, or maybe I wasn't actually a 'weightlifter' but that heavy lifting would almost always lead, once again, to an outbreak.

Would I have to go through this forever? Would I always be taking prescription drugs to keep the virus at bay? I tried some natural routes; Lysine an amino acid seemed to help, but not all the time, and not unless I took it (and a LOT of it) before the outbreaks would occur. I used significant amounts of lip balm, as sun overexposure would again bring it on. I have a lot of years left! Will this always be a factor in my life?

Then it so happened I got involved in essential oils the powerful aromatic compounds distilled in small amounts from plants. You've probably heard of them Lavender oil, Sandalwood, Frankincense, etc. They're getting to be fairly common these days. And then one day I stumbled onto research being performed with a particularly rare essential oil called 'Melissa' or 'Lemon Balm'. Melissa is steam distilled from the leaves of the Melissa herb and in very small quanitities. The plant yields a small amount of oil relative to all the other aromatic plant species out there. Research has been being performed in Europe for several years applying Melissa oil to herpes outbreaks, with very interesting results. In fact, one German pharmaceutical company extracted the 'active' component of the oil and sold it in a prescription preparation for use by herpes 'sufferers'.

The most encouraging statement regarding the use of Melissa on herpes was made by Dr. Dietrich Wabner, a professor at the University of Munich: he stated that a single application of Melissa may lead to a complete remission of the disease. A possible cure! I'd figured I had nothing to lose, so I tried a little bottle of the oil.

Further research gave me a better idea of a protocol; direct application of the essential oil may not lead to a complete remission in one application though healers were finding success with the oil's regular use through the course of several outbreaks. One drop of Melissa directly applied a few times a day throughout the outbreak, and for the next several times an outbreak was surfacing, might lead to remission of the disease. The regemine was to begin as soon as one felt an outbreak coming on some folks get an odd sensation at the location where the lesion may occur, and many will feel a general malaise. My outbreaks tended to occur on my tongue at that point I would get the flu/fatigued feeling, then a few tasted buds would swell and sting, with the occasional cold sore showing itself (and yes, this had been medically confirmed as HSV early on when the sored almost completely covered the roof of my mouth). So I started on the Melissa, placing just one drop in my mouth and 'swishing' it around a few times a day. It's a powerful oil, but I actually liked the taste...

Well, I wasn't one of the fortunate one's with a complete remission on the first try. But it did help the outbreaks were shorter, and then seemed to occur less frequently. THEN something WONDERFUL happened the outbreaks stopped all together. And believe me, my life has been no less stressful more so if anything. But no matter how hard my days were, how heavy my weight training sessions or other athletic endeavors, the outbreaks have not returned! No more unexplained low-level flu symptoms or sore spots in or on my mouth. I can't remember the last time this happened, and don't even keep the bottle around anymore just in case though I do recommend it to those in a similar position.

Now to those who may have more sensitive skin than I, Melissa can be diluted in a carrier oil (like Hazelnut or Rosehip Seed oil) down to 10% or less of the total concentration and still be just as effective taking any essential oil orally, and undiluted certainly, should be done with caution pay attention to your own reaction and proceed accordingly. I haven't any experience with the 'genital' variety of the virus, but I it should work just as well though this is where the carrier oil might feel a little nicer. But whatever way it's used, the protocol should be followed as closely as possible: apply the oil a few times a day to the affected area as soon as you feel an outbreak coming on, and stick with it until the lesions have healed. Then do it again the next several times an outbreak is surfacing. There are no guarantees, but I do hope this wonderful natural medicine can provide the same relief for others as it has for me.

For sufferer's of Shingles, another Herpes virus variety causing lesions of the skin, Ravensara (Ravensara aromatica, or 'True' Ravensara) oil has been used. Individuals have found relief using Ravensara in a 50-50 blend with Tamanu Nut oil. The Tamanu Nut sooths the skin during the healing process and keeps the Ravensara in contact with the sores. I have not heard of this offering a complete cure, but I have heard of this blend really helping relieve discomfort of this condition.

If you decide to try these natural methods, when buying essential oils, buy from a trusted source Melissa oil particularly has been adulterated due to it's high cost. The 'fake' mixture a blend of Lemongrass and other essential oils oils do not contain the same antiviral components. True Melissa is typically found in the range of $10 $20 per milliliter, with organic varieties costing a little more. There are nearly twenty-five drops in one milliliter, and because only one drop is typically used for each application, a few milliliters (1/4 to 1/8th ounce) can go a long way. If you try this natural healing oil, or to recommend it to those in need, I wish the best of success!

I have never used Melissa oil before, but upon reading some good things about it, I decided to try it. It is a small bottle but you really don't have to use alot. It's very strong. Has a strong minty/lemony smell and I find that it is very soothing. I wouldn't use full strength on skin as I said before it is VERY concentrated. (And I use a strong tea tree oil on my skin full strength, but I find this oil def needs a carrier becasue the concentration is so great.... Coconut oil is a great choice! :))

I think the price was worth it and even though it's a small bottle, It should last me awhile for sure. Will order again in the future.

So, I haven't had my Air Therapy that long about three weeks and I use it daily (and I didn't buy it from Amazon, I bought it at Home Depot, but love it so much, had to review here) I have the Key Lime and love it! First, I'll just say that I do not know if I'll run into container malfunctions later, as other reviewers have mentioned. My canister works fine so far :). But, what I DO know is that the fragrance is WONderful and I'm ridiculously picky about smells and very sensitive for example, I can't hang out in Macy's perfume department or in the detergent aisle at the store, as it is too much for me. So, Air Therapy does not smell unnatural, whatsoever, and actually gets rid of smells, and I've had to use it on some pretty bad odors a few times. I was worried at first, as the canister is so small, thought I'd use it up in no time, but turns out, unlike other natural spray fragrances I've bought such as Pure Citrus, you need so much less! Pure Citrus has pretty nice fragrances of orange, which I like, also a lemon I have not tried, but you must use 2-6 times more Pure Citrus than Air Therapy, to achieve what Air Therapy achieves with only one spray. In fact, Air Therapy says on the back you only need one spray and it really is true! Only sometimes, do I use two sprays. Such a relief to find a spark of truthful advertising. So, I believe this is a better deal than the Pure Citrus, even though Pure Citrus is 7 ounces as opposed to the 4.6 ounce canister of Air Therapy I have. Btw, I have only compared these two products in this review, as they are the only two I have found to meet my requirements, which are basically a non-chemical, natural fragrance that will actually freshen air and that are not unreasonably priced and that have fragrances you actually enjoy.

Have been using Air Therapy for more years than I can remember. After moving to Ohio, couldn't get the lime scent, so ordered through Amazon. Orange and lime are both great, but lime seems to be more healing for me. It can knock down even putrid cigarette odors from your neighbors apt. Only demerit is the can amount doesn't last as long as I'd like, but then it's not chemically enhanced producing a fake, lingering odor. I will always use this product because it takes me happy places.

I received a sample of this Air Freshener a couple of years ago. It's fresh citrus scent is light, effective and real. It isn't wet nor "synthesized" like most grocery store air fresheners. I use the citrus in the bathroom and also bought the lavender scent as it is my favorite for calming at bedtime or sleepless nights. It's not inexpensive but it lasts a very long time and is very effective. Highly recommend!

I love all Weleda products for my baby. I use this cream for her face and other areas that need extra moisture. I also use it on her bottom when there's some redness, but no true rash. It clears it right up. It's a heavier cream which helps protect her skin from the colder air of fall and winter. The ingredients are all natural and of good quality, so she has not had any reactions to it. I think it smells a bit more than other baby products, but I like the calendula smell.

I'm in my twenties, and have acne-prone skin that's sensitive as can be, and dry as the Kalahari. Really. I may be the only person that when leaving my skin to it's own devices look as if I have a flaking sun burn all over my face. Attractive award over here everybody!

That said, I use this stuff both day and night after a gentle cleanse, and it's stopped the peeling look dead in its track. My acne has improved since using it, instead of the usual breaking out when I find a actually moisturizing lotion, and my skin is hippie-baby soft.

For somebody without skin like a desert, this may be too heavy for day use, but it makes a fantastic night cream. With my skin, I find that immediately after applying I am slightly shiny, but this soaks in within 5 minutes and just makes me look dewey. With a layer of mineral powder foundation over top, I am completely matte.

The calendula definitely comes through in the smell. Now, if you've never smelled a real calendula flower, it's in the marigold family, and has a slightly herby smell. I was worried that it would be off-putting to my tea-tree, rosemary, and similar scent hating guy, but he didn't even notice. It's not exactly a bad smell, and it does dissipate fairly quickly, but it is something to be aware of.

Now, if you are actually looking at this product for a baby, I'd actually recommend getting a tube of Weleda Skin Food, 2.5 Ounce and doing double duty as a cream for your hands and a balm for red chubby cheeks. I find it works just as well, and since I carry it around in my purse I have it at hand for wind chapped cheeks and scrapes.

I love The Launderess products but this one is my favourite. A little goes a long way, and it is super effective to get rid of difficult stains e.g blood and wine which is my two common stains ( I see some raised eyebrows.) For the difficult stains on whites, I put some stain remover (The Laundress Stain Remover) on it, rub it in and then put in into the washer. Et voila! Stain is gone and my laundry looks sparkling white.

I grew up thinking Clorox Bleach was the end all/be all. After reading about how horrible it really is we stopped using it but our clothes became dingy (natch). We tried a few things Oxy, Borax... (avoid Proctor & Gamble evil empire).

We use this with two tablespoons of BioKleen bleach alternative for our white loads (hot water). Everything comes out bright white and after three washings our pure whites look uh-may-zing!!!

We use a little of this (about two teaspoons) mixed with our regular detergent (Trader Joe's) when doing mixed whites (white t-shirts, shorts and undie with prints on them) and, again, after a few washings they look great again!

The scent is great. I do admit it is a little stronger than what we are used to but we ALL keep sniffing our clothes because they smell so good. If scent is a problem you will need something unscented. But seriously, it is very natural like sunny days and forests :-)

It is expensive but subscribe and save really makes it more affordable. Plus, it is so concentrated that a little really does go a long way!!

I ordered this along with another product. I am so glad I found this. I have a hard time smelling fragrances. I do not have that problem with this product. I have 12ft ceilings and it still can enhance my downstairs. It doesn't take much for it to fill up a room. I look forward to ordering different fragrances in the future.
