Really does last a long time, at first I was putting in more than the required because it looked like it was too little but I had to unlearn what I had learned. Big plus is having the fabric softener right in it, looking at fabric softeners on the market one sees very vague ingredients like "Fragrance, coloring".

Great, simple detergent. Pure enough to wash reusable cloth diapers. We also use vinegar as our liquid fabric softner and wool dryer balls in the dryer for static control and the combo of these three things saves us tons of money and reduces waste.

I am really impressed with how well this stuff works. A couple of drops in the toilet before doing your 'thing' does the trick by trapping the odor under the water.

Occasionally our company goes on business trips with two people sharing a room. I've always been quite conscience about someone using the bathroom after me but having this stuff has sure made it a non-issue. Plus it's small (size of a typical eye dropper) and therefore no problem carrying it in my shaving bag.

I have put one in both bathrooms at the house as well and the family has given it their thumbs up (my kids can rip off some real stinkers) :)

First of all, I must point out that this product has been mislabeled here as an "antiperspirant", which it is not (natural deodorants never are, since the "antiperspirant" ingredients are what potentially cause cancer.) This product's label, clearly seen in the picture, advertises it as being an "aluminum free, paraben free, natural deodorant."

Ok, having cleared that up, I am happy to report that this deodorant is absolutely fantastic! It smells wonderful (a crisp, clean, almost sporty-like scent, like the smell of many men's body washes...I'm a total girly-girl, however, and the sporty fragrance doesn't bother me at all or make me feel like I smell manly or anything.) Even better than the way it smells, though, is the fact that I don't feel like I'm just covering up my own body odor. I live in the southern CA desert, where it is 110°+ the whole summer, and sweating is completely unavoidable. Any other natural deodorants I've tried recently (Tom's of Maine, various salt crystal types, Jason, and a few others I can't recall off the top of my head right now) did nothing to prevent the sour pit odor that can occur in miserable summer temps, no matter how fastidious I was regarding my personal hygiene! I didn't want to, but I finally had to give up on using safer, healthier, "natural" deodorants because I couldn't stand my own stench (and I'm pretty sure others around me couldn't stand it, either!) I reluctantly went back to using an antiperspirant deodorant that has aluminum and paraben in it...effective against sweat and odor, but at the risk of causing cancer?? Yikes.

My mom found this product while she was on vacation, and decided to give it a try, even though we'd both concluded that natural deodorants just don't work as well or even at all as regular antiperspirant deodorants do. Thank goodness we've been proven wrong! Finally, here's a natural deodorant which I can feel safe and comfortable using, it works all day, smells terrific, and keeps me from smelling like a funky hippie! :) (I'm all for a green, holistic, all-natural lifestyle, but...you know what I mean??) I highly recommend this deodorant!

Once upon a time when I was a teenager I used to sweat a lot. This sweating, shockingly enough, was focused pretty much in my armpits. Some of you may also sweat from your armpits. Don't worry... I hear this is a common occurrence.

It must've been hormonal or something because I don't sweat nearly that bad anymore. Regardless, at the time I tried a few things to help the situation. I tried Certain Dri Antiperspirant Roll-On for Excessive Perspiration 1.2 oz (35.5 ml), the OTC super antiperspirant. It cut down on my sweating a lot but I wasn't quite satisfied.

My doctor gave me a prescription for Drysol, the prescription-only super antiperspirant. This stuff would literally keep my armpits bone dry if I were doing jumping jacks in a dry sauna while wearing a parka. What's the catch? After the first application the stuff starts irritating your skin and it gets to the point where it burns mercilessly when you apply the stuff and then even after washing it off your underarms are extremely tender and itchy. I couldn't live with that.

Fortunately I grew up into my 20s and my crazy hormones chilled out and I stopped being an excessive sweater. But I still sweat like a normal person and here was my main concern:

I HATE RUINING SHIRTS! Yellow stains, white stains, "stiff" fabric, what have you... I hated it. And so I was using Mitchum Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant, Power Gel, Mountain Air, 3.4 oz (96 g) (Pack of 4) because it was a strong antiperspirant (25%).

**** IMPORTANT PART FOR YOU SKIMMERS ****

Here's the key point: all along while I thought I was doing more to alleviate my problem, I was in fact exacerbating the problem! I thought it was sweat that ruined shirts. No, not true. IT'S THE ALUMINUM-BASED CHEMICALS IN ANTIPERSPIRANTS THAT RUIN YOUR CLOTHES! What???? I know, shocking. When they mix with your sweat they react and then bleach or stain or stiffen the armpit area of your clothes. So by using Mitchum, which has 25% active antiperspirant ingredient, I was actually doing MORE damage.

But would would I do without my precious antiperspirant? Sweat? Heavens no! So I tried out Speed Stick by Mennen Antiperspirant Deodorant, Stainguard, Clean 2.7 oz (76 g), Pack of 3. It turns out their theory is to have less active ingredient for the antiperspirant (only 10% while Mitchum had 25% and most regular antiperspirants have around 15%) and a more "clingy" formula for the stuff to keep it from rubbing off on your clothes from your armpits. I guess I liked it but I was still troubled by the fact that the evil stain-causing antiperspirant, while at a lower concentration, was still present. I wanted to be able to wear my nicest shirts and not be stressing over whether they're getting ruined or not.

So I decided to make the change. Along with learning about possible-although-a-good-chance-not-actually-related connections between increased aluminum in the body and Alzheimer's disease, I decided to make the move to strictly deodorants antiperspirant-free, that is.

BUT I WAS SCARED! A MERE DEODORANT WITH NO SWEAT-STOPPING POWER? HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY SUFFICE?

Enter Arm & Hammer Essentials Antiperspirant / Deodorant, Fresh, 2.5 Oz/pack, 4 pack. HO-LY CRAP! I did careful research into all kinds of aluminum-free deodorants. Some had cotton in them. Some were crazy crystals from the Earth (which, I've learned, is simply the natural ore from which aluminum is made so, yeah, for what it's worth). Some had tea tree oil and Shea butter and all the fad-like seasonings and spices you could ask for. But the reviews for the Arm & Hammer Essentials Deodorant sounded good so I got it.

HERE'S THE SKINNY:

It says it's unscented. It's not, but from what I've read of the scented versions, they are way too overpowering and so the unscented version gives you just enough fresh fragrance.

I found that with my previous antiperspirants/deodorants like Mitchum and Speed Stick, the scent lasted the full day. But I would say I ended each day smelling what I like to call "funky fresh". It was sort of a weird mutant smell created by the merging of B.O. and the fragrance. So it still smelled fresh but with like a bit of a sour twang. The underarm fabric of my shirts also would have this funky fresh smell at the end of the day.

With the Arm & Hammer, I was amazed. About halfway through the day I can't really detect the "fresh" scent anymore. But that's okay, because it's labeled as unscented, right? So by the end of the day, of course, there's no fresh smell. But guess what else I don't have at the end of the day? The funk. No funky, and no fresh. It's amazing in a good way! After a long day of sweating in the DC summer humidity, at the end of the day my underarms simply smell "neutral". As in, they smell like nothing. There's just nothing! I love it! No B.O., no sour funk, and not even any deodorant smell. It's really cool, actually.

This stuff works. I consider myself an average to slightly above-average sweater. My primary concerns being ruining clothes. This stuff is an answer. I highly recommend this product.

And honestly, I don't notice myself sweating any more than I did before when using Mitchum or Speed Stick. So I'm not missing the antiperspirant at all!

I was very disappointed when I received this deodorant and read the ingredients and saw that it contains Triclosan. I bet that most people who want to avoid parabens and aluminum want to avoid Triclosan too. I won't be using it.

After using this for a few weeks and thinking I'd finally found a deodorant without aluminum that works most of the time, I looked at the label again and discovered that this product contains triclosan. My mistake for not reading closely when I bought it, but disappointing...

The FDA is reexamining triclosan which may be an endocrine disruptor.

I had read some reviews for this scent saying it was either "too strong" or "not something a chick could wear." For me, personally, I disagree with both these comments.

No offense, but when you get a deodorant that's scented, one should expect that it IS going to have a scent......or you'd have gotten an unscented variety. I suppose if you have a really sensitive nose, this may possibly be strong to you, but in my experience such people usually avoid scented products anyway.

And, true, this isn't a really fluffy feminine smell, but I actually don't particularly care for those kinds of scents anyway (I'm female, by the way). For the most part I prefer clean scents for deodorant rather than something that smells too flowery, too perfumey, too powdery (which I think makes you smell...older), or something wacky like fruit. So if you're a female wanting a more "ladylike" scent, this isn't it. But for my tastes, it's perfectly fine. There are coriander, lavender, and rosemary oils in it....if you like essential oils (again, a preference of mine), this will also probably be up your alley.

The application is very smooth, and you don't need very much. I'm very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to those looking for those natural product alternatives.

I had been looking for a lotion (which is liquid) not a cream (which is solid) for external use, for hands during winter, face after shaving, feet for white dry skin, and for the entire body after mountain biking and surfing in burning sun for years. After shaving regardless wherever on your body, you are not suppose to use cream since it is solid and blocks the skin from breathing. You are suppose to use a lotion. Almond oil and Castor oil are the best for my entire body since both are easily absorbed and won't clog pores. Both products are considered food grade which means you can cook with it just like olive oil but the difference is that you can use these without even knowing that you have applied any on your skin since it is virtually odourless. Any oil from any nut or whole grain like brown rice will go rancid in less than six months so purchasing huge amount of nut oil will have no nutritional value shortly after production so I refill my small container mixing castor+almond which I keep in my bathroom drawer next to my shaving blade which is dark, away from any light and the rest wrapped in a black plastic bag in the freezer. Just like olive oil, it should never be exposed to any light. The mix is excellent for removal of black spots on skin, burned skin, massage, headache and much more and that is why I mix almond+castor. The almond oil, or any nut oil should be Expeller-Pressed with no added additives of any sort. Any nut oil should be good enough that you can consume it raw or use it in cooking and Spectrum is the better one since it really is sold all over right next to all other cooking oils instead of health section. I like Spectrum because of the glass container.

The scent of the linden (also known as lime) blossom is alluring in its simplicity, its delicacy, and its sort of 'Old World' charm, like the scent of violets or sweet May roses. It is the sort of scent you learn to love, that sort of grows on you it isn't like your 'typical' floral fragrances, and reminds me a lot of that heady aroma of fresh loquat blossoms. It's soft, slightly powdery, but masculine in the same way that French lavender is deep and vibrant. It almost has a sort of medicinal, herbal quality to it, but thankfully, it isn't sickening.

I bought the Linden soap not for use on my body per se, but to do laundry. I know a lot of people will read that and blink a few times, but if you make your own detergents, this is the perfect scent and texture for wash day it's a gentle yet rich, moisturizing soap, and the scent is stronger and long-lasting than say, l'Occitane's linden savon de marseille block, which I found to be dry and brittle, the smell weak, disintegrating quickly. The fragrance of Pre de Provence's is completely out of the ballpark in terms of strength and depth it lingers. Once your clothes dry, the linden scent mellows down into a pleasing, 'tossed in the autumn wind' sort of smell just fresh. It does the same for your skin, too just a light, soothing freshness that you can't quite describe in words, but know.

If you want to have a multi-purpose soap and are interested in how this works in the wash, I suggest grating with every load instead of melting it down on the stove-top like many people do with 'home-made' wash detergents, as the linden has such a delicate scent that 'cooking' completely eradicates it. And seeing how thick and luxurious this soap is, I can only imagine what wonders it does to your skin!

I used a Linden soap years ago and thought it smelled like heaven. I bought two bars of Pre de Provence Soap and used it, and it STILL smells like a walk through a wild flower patch. A wonderfully light, clean scent that smells like spring. But it smells NATURAL...not artificial like perfume. Not overpowering at all but it stays on your skin for quite a while. I have pretty sensitive skin and it doesn't dry it out, either. I'd recommend this soap all day long :)

Edited to add: I tried the Pomegranate variety. Its fruity smell doesn't hold a candle (in my opinion) to this light flowery fragrance. This scent is AMAZING :)

The soap arrived 2 days after I ordered it. It greatly exceeded my expectations. I ordered it because I missed the linden flower smell I grew up with in Europe but honestly, I was quite skeptical about a soap trapping that flagrance well enough.

Turns out I had no reason to worry. The smell is amazing, very authentic and without "fake" chemically tones. If you're worried about it leaving your skin too smelly after a shower, don't. I used the oil on my wrists, neck and behind the ears, as prescribed. I followed up with my own perfume. The night I used the oil I decided to go dancing with a girlfirend of mine. I had read the reviews before purchasing, some of which noted an offensive smell. I did not read the product description carefully so I did not realize that this box would not work for my 15ml Doterra bottles and the holes are circles, so probably won't fit Aura Cacia oils either, but that is my error so I'm not deducting any stars. This is a beautifully made box, well constructed and good quality wood with a small magnetic closure. My only complaint (and the reason for the missing star) is that there is nothing to hold onto to pull it open. If you don't have good finger strength or tend to break your nails, you'll wish it had some kind of knob or handle to open it with.

I like these better than the larger sardines from Portugal or Morocco, but they are not as good as the even smaller 2 layer pack brislings. The 2 layer cross pack are the best. The extra seasoning in these neither adds nor detracts from the taste -I can take it or leave it. In all cases an olive oil pack is superior to water, fish oil, or some cheapo oil (cottonseed, soy, etc). It's really too bad that the Tiny Tots are so hard to find. I'm trying to eat a heathier diet. As for fish, unless it is deep fried and served with fries, salt, and a sea of vinegar I don't eat it. But I decided to try these, and YUMMY!!! I can actually eat fish without the bad fat, hooray! I've tried the plain with olive oil and didn't like that, but I really like these Mediterranean ones. They are very flavorful and take away the icky fish factor. I would really recommend this to anyone who wants to try eating, fish but is leery of fishyness that keeps them away.

I've been a fan of Norse Brisling for over 25 years and have enjoyed both King Oscar and Norwegian Prince brands. I once enjoyed the sardine oil packed version but haven't found them since the early nineties, so it's been olive oil for me lately. The price of brisling was going through the roof over the last five years or so until a couple of years ago. It seems King Oscar moved packing from Norway to Poland to cut costs. From what I've tried, quality didn't suffer one iota.

These King Oscar Mediterranean Sardines are delicious. There small for so-called one layer. The way they're packed is more like 1.5 layer. I love them on Red Oval or Wasa Light Rye. The Mediterranean seasoning is unobtrusive but pleasant.

These are so hard to find in the store. With subscribe and save the price drops dramatically. I love to have these on hand. The Mediterranean is our favorite with olives and mediterranean seasonings.
