While waiting for our eucalyptus trees to grow, i decided to get the eucalyptus oil to ward off biting insects. This works. Very stong odor, but not offensive when I first dabed on my neck, arms and hands. So then I tried it on our dog. I use this oil in the kitchen as a natural "insect discourager"--a term I prefer to use in place of insect killer. Ants can't stand the aroma, so I spray the parts of my kitchen where they are prone to enter (mixed with a little liquid castille and water), and no more ants! My dog has not had a flea since I've sprayed this with lavender, teatree, cedarwood and lemongrass in water with a drop of dish detergent. The smell is fleeting, but it works. I tried all the commercial products, but they only irritated my dog's skin (granted, it is not a big or hearty dog...for those, you can probably use Raid). Fast shipment, good price.

This is a very nice shampoo. After using it for just the first time, my hair felt very soft. I have coarse natural hair, and after using the shampoo, I noticed that my hair felt softer. I also liked the light floral coconut fragrance. Another, good thing about it is that you only have to use a little of it, because it lathers up very nicely. Too bad these folks didn't leave out the hokey "Cotton Blossom" scent, as it is overpowering and so strong it's like walking around in a overwhelming cloud of floral perfume. The son with allergies to scents and added chemicals for whom I bought this product immediately had his eyes swell up and broke out in a rash. I found the starch itself quite adequate though you must use care to not spray it too thickly or it will spot. The ironing board cover picked this up, of course, and it got on my husbands shirts, which he refused to wear because of the perfume. I then discovered the the scent was so strong, it was spreading itself to all item hanging in our closets. The price of this spray starch is very reasonable, but the time and detergent I used rewashing and ironing everything in the house was not.

Your allergic friends and relatives will not thank you for using this product.

This spray starch works well but you will need extra time to do the ironing. It doesn't work as fast as the aerosol competitors but the packaging isn't going into a landfill so this product gets five stars from me.

This starch works well and you get a lot of bang for your buck. My biggest gripe is the stench it really smells bad and is extremely overpowering. I read other reviews that mentioned this before purchasing, but never would have imagined that it would actually be as bad as it is. Even if you only use a little, it is all you will smell on your clothing not a great trade-off in my opinion.

Overall, I like how it works, but can't stand the way it makes clothes smell. I will not use this product again, as long as has such a powerfully unpleasant smell.

-Earth friendly.

-In most cases, works very well.

Cons:

-I have had this starch leave rings on shirts that I ironed they have always washed out.

-The smell is strong, unpleasant, and overpowering. If you want to noticeably smell like this product, then this is not a con for you. Though, I imagine that most people would not want to smell this offensive.

Now Foods Lemon Oil

Natural mosquito repellants with active ingredient Lemon Eucalyptus OIL are the only natural repellants approved by the US Government (?FDA) to work (sorry I forget which entity tested them). They work as well as low level DEET in fact but are safer for everyone. The only thing the GOv said was that they only last about HALF as long 2-3 hrs as DEET does. So must be reapplied more frequently.

So, I thought I'd buy the Essential OIL...the pure active ingredient,, rather than a brand name repellant with a smaller percentager (20% or so) of the essential oil. Save money. I could mix it in a carrier oil, or not.

I put this oil neet...not diluted...on my lower legs ankles and arms because I was running out late to my garden didn't have time to dilute it (in general they say dilute essential oils that had been my plan).

positives

-I got no rash from putting it on neet

neutral

-Intitial smell very strong (of course). I prefer plain eucalyptus smell this smells like citronella.

better than DEET.

-I got no bites that I noticed. However, I was not at my garden a long time it turned out so was not a good test.

negative

-the smell wore off VERY quickly (within 30 min). It makes me worry that it was no longer active. Supposedly the brand name mixtures with this oil as active ingredient (ie tested by Gov) last 2hrs+. It could be that other ingredients in those products extend the staying power? Vs the smell I a human can detect is not relevant to mosquito replellancy vs this is a weak/diluted oil (I have no reason to suspect that particularly but smell disipated even pressing my nose to my arm)

don't know if it helps you. I can't tell if it's a good oil or not. If it ends up working diluted as I planned it will be a good price for what I am using it for given how expensive REPEL is. Haven't tested it enough and wont' for a while. As usual Amazon shipping was perfect and this glass bottle of very potent smelling oil arrived well packaged and intact just when they said it would.

I've been using Badger products for years, and I have hoped that they would make a balm like this for some time. I'm a chronic migraine sufferer; I get migraines 3 or more times per week. As an adjunct to my drug therapy, this stuff works beautifully, helping me to relax a bit while I wait for my medication to take effect. The peppermint/lavender scent actually lessens my nausea. Rubbing the product into my temples seems to have some effect on the pain as well. Don't get me wrong: I don't think this product on its own would get rid of one of my migraines. I've been getting migraines for years, and recently I found a prescription nasal spray that really truly works for my major headaches (the "I can't imagine any worse pain, can barely see, can't tolerate sound or scent, and wind up in the hospital, dehydrated from retching" ones) but the spray gives me all kinds of side effects also. Now, a full-on migraine is definitely bad enough that I want relief at any cost, so I use my prescription. However, I also suffer from tension headaches or "mini-migraines" that can knock me out for a day or three but don't make me want to die. I bought the Badger Balm Headache Soother looking for help with those mini-headaches, for which I'd already been using OTC painkillers and cold compresses.

I love that the Balm is organic. I love the scent, which is light enough that it usually doesn't turn my stomach. It's a blend of lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, mandarin and sandalwood; really soothing (hence the name, I suppose). There's menthol in the mix too, not enough to give much scent, but also not enough to provide any sort of distracting, cooling sensation as promised. The texture of the balm is nice and smooth, not too firm to apply but without a thick, greasy feeling either. It's a really nice product for aromatherapy and relaxation, but it doesn't do a thing for my headaches.

If you're looking for headache relief, I'd suggest HeadOn Apply Directly to Forehead Migraine Relief .2 oz (5.67 g) instead. It's fragrance-free and provides the distracting, menthol cooling sensation I was hoping to find in this Headache Soother. However, if you're just looking for a nicely scented, organic balm for relaxation, this is perfect. I'll probably buy it again, just not for its stated use.

It works great for a bit of tension, I like to rub it on my stiff neck and around my temples, but it doesn't do a thing for my headaches. The smell fades pretty quickly too. I'd recommend it for a bit of stress relief, but for headaches I'd go with HeadOn Apply Directly to Forehead Migraine Relief .2 oz (5.67 g).
