Honestly, who can tell if an eye cream actually works? Not this girl. But I nevertheless buy into the fear-mongering about losing my beauty and turning into a haggard, wrinkled crone that no man will love and no company will employ, as time marches me inevitably toward a lonely and let's not forget UGLY death.

So I buy eye cream. This one has a weirdly chemical scent and a somewhat off-putting gelatinous texture. So it's less of a cream, and more of a gel. But I still use it in hopes that it will magically ensure that my face doesn't begin to resemble a leathery old catcher's mitt over night.

Maybe it's working. Who knows?

It has a strong smell but not entirely unpleasant. I was just a little disappointed that it's not as mega moisturizing as other reviews had led me to believe. It leaves a silky soft texture and you don't need much at all to cover your eyes, so it should last a long time...but I still thought it was overpriced. I appreciate the quality ingredients but I just found it a little short of my expectations.

However, if you're like me and you're looking for a good overnight eye cream that's a little pricier and better quality than the drug store brands without being $50+ or something else insane, this is a great product to buy. I don't know yet about its long term effects but for now I definitely like it better than anything I've bought at Target. It has a super light, easily absorbed consistency that's a breeze to apply and the bottle is quite pretty. :)

All in all I recommend it to anyone not looking for something anti-aging, just moisturizing enough to keep the skin taken care of.

Edit, January 2011: I've been using this eye cream for about 3 months now and while I can still safely say it's not an anti-aging product (I'm not sure it claims to be, anyway), it definitely has improved the skin around my eyes. I find it's softer and my makeup goes on easier and it doesn't collect in the lines under my eyes much anymore. And now that I'm used to the unusual smell it's actually quite nice. Upgrading to 5 stars!
