I'm having terrible luck with essential oil scents -while this does smell of basil, it's the kind of basil you throw out.

It's pungent, smells like it's gone bad. Medicinal aftersmell that lingered. Only used it once before giving it away.

Nice, but strong, beware. Make sure to dilute it. It actually irritated my breathing and i couldnt breath well for some times, but it was my own fault, i should have known better. But its a great oil. would encourage anyone who buys it to plz dilute it , undiluted, inhale from a distance

I ordered several different essential oils from this company and most seemed fine, but now I'm in doubt. This is because the basil oil I ordered was not actually basil oil, it was patchouli! Now I don't mind having patchouli around it's useful but it makes me doubt that other oils I order from this company are actually what their labels say they are. I will never order anything from this company ever again.

Basil essential oil is very helpful to me. The brand I've been buying is quite expensive and I hoped this company would provide a less costly alternative. Good basil oil has an herbaceous fragrance. For me it evokes the smell of cut leaves on a hot summer day. The Plant Therapy oil smells nothing like that. It has a harsh chemical odor. I tried it once in my preparations as a headache remedy and found it ineffective. Frankly, I don't want to try it again because I'm suspicious of what's in it.

I purchased this oil to add to some lotion bars I am making for the holiday. It smells great and mixes well. I don't need to use very much to scent a one pound batch. Perhaps a few shakes. Unfortunately there is no great way to measure the amount used as the bottle is dark and the label engulfs nearly the whole thing. This is not a problem for me at all though as I don't need it to last forever. The scent is pure and just like freshly cut live basil. I love it!
