I do write this review with a bit of irritation at the people that shipped it to me because it was packaged by a numbskull. But, that is not Mr. Blandi's problem and not a reflection on his product. The shampoo smells like old lady Jasmine, not fresh Jasmine, more like fake Jasmine chemical. When I was using it I realized even the label is old school and not very fresh either. Nonetheless, the shampoo does what it says it will do, it smoothes the hair from the dreaded frizzies. I wanted to hate the shampoo, since I really do not like the fragrance. But I cannot say I hate it at all because when it does what it says it will do, then accomplished what its charter was! With full disclosure, I'm not a fragrance kind of girl, or at least not the kind that likes things to be overly fragranced and unfortunately this product is that. If you are sensitive to smells you may want to reconsider this one. I could still smell it after my hair was dry and the only reason I'll keep using it until the bottle is empty is because of the aforementioned doing what it said it would do! Though...do read my post about the conditioner because it isn't as fragranced!

I got a sample of the smoothing shampoo and conditioner in a Sephora order. I used it at night and went to bed with a wet head, fully expecting to spend some time taming it in the morning. I woke up with beautiful curls! I didn't have to wet my hair, or use a curling iron (as usual). The lather feels very luxurious, like I get in the salon, but never at home (I thought it was my water). I bought the whole line the next day!
