My mom (65yo) had an operation on her hand related to Duchenne's (claw hand) which resulted in her needing this stuff. Honestly, I don't know exactly what she does with it, but she swears by this wax and how it helps her post-op hand movement. No matter how much I get her, it's always on her amazon wish list.
