I absolutely adore this lip balm because, besides being natural and made from non-petroleum based ingredients (who wants to ingest petroleum jelly or mineral oil?), it also works better than any other lip balm I've tried. I've put it on at night and still felt it on my lips in the morning. That's amazing, considering most products seem to need re-application every 10 minutes or so. The smell is just O.K. I acutally did find it a tad off-putting at first, but either I got used to it or the smell wore off a bit over the course of the season (it's not terribly strong to start with). It's the ginger oil I have a bottle of ginger essential oil and it has the same slightly "off" smell. (I recently bought the lemon-lime, which has a faint but pleasant scent of fresh citrus. I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem to be quite as moisturizing? So, for now, the Orange Ginger is still my favorite.)

Not a very strong smell, but gives moisture to your lips. I bought the peppermint flavor later and really like that one better. Great for my kids cause it does not have any chemicals and has some scent to make them feel like they are using "grown up" stuff. I threw away my lipsticks after trying this lip balm. Of all the Burt's Bee balms & others, this is by far the one with the most moisture in it to keep your lips soft all day long without an over-powering taste. i purchased this product to try a new lip balm, especially since i have been using dr. bronner's products for a while now and i am pleased with them.it is a good lip balm, very emollient and natural orange/ ginger flavor and scent.
the best part of this lip balm is that ALL the ingredients are organic. there is nothing artificial in it neither.
so why only 4 stars. it is a personal matter. there is a scent / flavor in it that i really don't care about. maybe the avocado or the hemp oil. i don't know, but i don't really like it. but it might not bother somebody else, so they could rate this product with 5 stars then. it deserves them!i bought this because i LOVE the scent of this lip balm. i still do. and in the beginning, i thought i really liked how it is kind of more greasy than other lip balms that i was used to, and how smooth it would glide on. but somehow it'd almost dry my lips out more and so i end up having to apply it every few minutes!
it's quite possible that this just doesn't work for me though. i tend to be sensitive toward lip balm. so i'm going back to my favorite from the last 3 years-burt's bees pomegranate lip balm. it's so moisturizing and has a very nice scent as well.
