I hate giving bad reviews, of all the dozens of reviews I've written, this is the only one under 4 stars I've felt needed to be done:( Anyways, yes, this amber smells like a spicy Indian cuisine. I love me some Indian food, but the fragrance is not what I was expecting for this! It is not soft and powdery and smooth smelling, it is quite harsh and it does NOT smell good! I have smelled other amber and this is pretty awful. I would not recommend this product, this is not how a good, smooth amber should smell.

This is an extraordinarily nice amber. The bottle it comes in is pretty low quality the stopper portion of the cap disconnected from the cap itself the first time I opened it and lodged in the mouth of the bottle, requiring some messy pulling to remove. Don't let that discourage you. It starts out a bit acrid, but let it mellow for a minute and it becomes a lovely sweet, warm, complex scent, exactly what you want from amber.

Be prepared to decant it into a better bottle.

There are a lot of different varieties of amber oil out there, this one just did not fit my fancy. Smelled a little more floral than the deep, rich ambers I am used to.

Smells OK kind of heavy and pungent. Delivery and packaging by this vendor was excellent. I will keep looking for Amber Essential Oil I really did not like the smell of this one. Does not smell like good quality Amber but it is an essential oil and not a fragrance oil.
