I recently purchased Vetiver essential oil as an additional essential oil in a calming lotion I make for my children, as well as a pain cream I make for my mother. Vetiver oil calms and soothes the mind and helps to dispel anger, hysteria and irritability and neurotic behavior can also be reduced, as stress and tension is reduced. It revitalizes the body and helps with mental and physical exhaustion and is also used for general aches and pains, especially for rheumatism, arthritis and muscular pain, while relieving insomnia. This product met my expectations and I am happy with it.

Upon the first whiff of this, you might fall flat on your ass...definitely too strong, BUT, this must be diluted into a carrier oil, such as pure almond oil, and then the smell is not so sharp.

First time I ever smelled this was at Prairie Ridge in Rapid City, SD. Michael, the Botanical Dept. Manager, was wearing it. I couldn't stop sniffing him when he was helping me buy some sweet grass for smudging. I finally just asked him what it was and he told me. First thing i did when I got home was ordered some for myself. This is very intense, concentrated oil so start with a teeny bit. First time I put it on I used too much and kind of smelled like rotting, over ripe vegetation on a damp forest floor; the earthy smell was just too much. I cut way back after that, and just love the scent now. I don't know if there is anything else it is used for, but I just love wearing it!
