I have been using this product for about 1 month. I was using other products prior to this. This is the highest density and cleanest pharmaceutical grade fish oil that I am aware of. Because it is so dense I am able to take much less of it then I would otherwise need to get the same amount of EPA and DHA. The EPA and DHA also come in a 2:1 ratio which seems to be about ideal. I am using this product as part of a Zone diet. The Zone diet is a higher protein lower carb diet with the fish oil for anti-inflammation purposes. With lower density oils I need to use more and the product doesn't work as well. In addition, this product has a small amount of lemon flavor added. Now I love all kinds of seafood. However, I am taking a good deal of fish oil daily. I do not use the pills because I would need to take too many (and it is much more expensive). So I use the oil in a smoothie every day. The taste of all of that fish oil is beyond my tolerance. But with the lemon flavoring it completely cuts through the fishy taste and I do not get any of that. I was taking the Zone fish oil prior to this but the taste just got to be too much. However, with both products there is no fishy burping or any of that because the oil is so pure. This oil is bottled in an oxygen free atmosphere so it does not need to be frozen for storage purposes prior to use. It can be stored at room temperature (or perhaps cellar temperature would be better) and does not need to be refrigerated until it is opened. Once opened it will begin to oxydize so it needs to be used regularly and promptly. And make no mistake -not all fish oil is the same. Remember that we flush all of our trash and pollutants into the oceans where they wind up in the fish. Taking unpurified fish oil is just foolish. There is an organization in Canada that does independent testing of all fish oil products for purity. During the processing of this fish oil all of the heavy metals and PCB pollutants are removed and the product is concentrated. That is what make the product pharmaceutical grade. That is why it is more expensive. I would refer readers to the Zone Diet web page for more information on third party testing of oils. And finally, because of the expense of this oil I do not waste even a drop of it. I measure the amount I need carefully. If you use plastic measuring spoons they will soon smell of fish forever. So use stainless steel spoons, or better yet a small glass measuring cup for small quantities (like a shot glass). I take this fish oil because of an inflammatory skin condition. Without treatment I develop a bad rash that is incredibly itchy and painful when scratched. With this high dose fish oil the condition is controlled without using steroid ointments. So I notice the result immediately when I miss a dose or when I use oil that is less concentrated and pure. So I know that this product works and I know that the Zone fish oil works. I have discovered that other products just don't work as well. So for those people who need high doses of pharmaceutical grade fish oil this is the best product I have found.

TRIGLYCERIDES VS ETHYL ESTERS FORM: Carlson Labs Very Finest Liquid Fish Oil, Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Liquid (Non-concentrated), Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Xtra Liquid (Concentrated), and Udo's Oil 3*6*9 Blend (Liquid) are a triglycerides form of omega-3 fish oil. Omapure Liquid Omega-3 Fish Oil is an ethyl esters form of omega-3 fish oil. There has been considerable debate about which is better, but I believe that debate has been over-exaggerated and is unwarranted.
Nutrigold is a respected company that manufactures BOTH an ethyl esters and a triglycerides form of omega-3 fish oil. This is what the Nutrigold website has to say about the two forms:
"Most fish oil supplements are either available in Ethyl Ester form or the Triglyceride form. Structurally, the major difference between the two forms is that in Ethyl Ester, the fatty acids (EPA & DHA) are esterified to an ethanol backbone, while in TG, the fatty acids are esterified to a glycerol alcohol backbone; there are absolutely no differences in the two forms of fish oil in terms of stability. The vast majority of clinical studies examining supplemental Omega-3s have been performed on the Ethyl Ester form and results from studies comparing the relative bioavailability of the EE form versus the TG form have found increased bioavailability of the TG form in the short-term (2 weeks), but this difference disappears when fish oil is routinely supplemented and a steady state has been achieved over a longer period of time.

I don't believe this is terribly significant, as Vitamin D3 can be purchased for very little money, and lots of folks who take it consume more than 1000 I.U. daily. It is my opinion that Vitamin D3 is an unnecessary additive.
MEALS: Any ethyl esters based and triglycerides based omega-3 fish oil is best taken with a meal containing some fat, as they are more efficiently absorbed when taken with food.
OPINION: All five of these liquid omega-3 fish oil supplements are excellent. Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Extra Liquid (concentrated) is one of the richest, most concentrated sources of omega-3 oil available on the market, but it is extremely expensive. Likewise, Udo's Oil 3*6*9 Blend (Liquid) has extremely high potency and it is a lot less expensive than Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Extra Liquid (concentrated). Both Carlson Labs Very Finest Liquid Fish Oil and Udo's Oil 3*6*9 Blend (Liquid) contain soy. Both Omapure Liquid Omega-3 Fish Oil and Udo's Oil 3*6*9 Blend (Liquid) contain cholesterol. Udo's Oil 3*6*9 Blend (Liquid) is the only one of these products that is vegetarian and certified Kosher.
RATING:
I rated Carlson Labs Very Finest Liquid Fish Oil four stars. The lesser potency and the presence of soy and cholesterol were sufficient for me to deduct one star from Carlson Labs Very Finest Liquid Fish Oil.
I rated Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Xtra (Liquid)(Concentrated) five stars, although it is extremely expensive.
I rated Udo's Oil 3*6*9 Blend (Liquid) five stars because it is extremely potent, reasonably priced, is vegetarian, and is certified Kosher, although it contains soy.
I rated Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Liquid (Non-concentrated) five stars because, while its potency is not as high as Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Xtra (Liquid)(Concentrated), it is a lot less expensive.
I rated Omapure Liquid Omega-3 Fish Oil five stars because it is reasonably potent and reasonably priced.

I went to see my doctor and discussed with her how I had been feeling overwhelmed and anxious in the last few months. I asked if there was some kind of anti anxiety medication I could take and She asked If i was taking Omega 3, I replied NO !! She said she would give me the prescription for an anti anxiety medication but FIRST she wanted me take a HIGH DOSAGE of Omega 3 for a for about a month to see how I felt. If that didn't work then we would take it to the next level. Well I waited weeks because I was soooo reluctant to take the OMEGA and I wanted the med instead. As weeks went by my anxiety seemed to escalate and finally I put my foot down and thought " Ok I will listen and take the Omegas first and see and most likely it will be a waste !!! " Now it has been about a month since I "reluctantly" started with this product and I have to say I am feeling the positive effects of it. My anxiety has majorly diminished, feeling more calm all around and most importantly I am sleeping a lot BETTER . I started doing research and found out OMEGAS are extremely beneficial for individuals with depression and anxiety. Then I started to think ... could it be a placebo effect ?? Well I highly doubt it since in the first couple of weeks I literally rolled my eyes every time I swallowed a teaspoon of this ULTIMATE OMEGA. Since this product offers more amount of EPA and DHA / ml of liquid (even more than majority of HUGE caplets), I prefer this product. Seems like good quality, no 'fishy smell', no burp afterwards and has Vit D included, so no need to take extra pill.My only complaint about this product is the packaging. This product comes in a bottle, without dropper. I wish they would include a dropper, in addition to the cap, just like many Pure Encapsulations products are packaged. You can use the spoon to take the oil but majority of the times, I have noticed, a drop of two will run down the bottle and the surface where you store the bottle is oily. I hate that. An addition of dropper (extra cost if you like) will solve this mess. It will be easier to measure to take, no spoon, no mess.
Surprisingly, I did not find a dropper that will fit this bottle in regular brick and mortar stores.
