I have been using this for about a year now and I find it works well I don't perspire heavily, just wanted extra odor control and this takes care of it. BUT the dispenser leaks out the bottom and leaves a big oily mess on the surface it sits on. I have given it a few chances, thinking maybe I had gotten a bad container, but they all leak. When I e-mailed the company to ask if this was going to be addressed, they never replied to me, so I assume it will be an ongoing problem, AND I am irritated that they didn't have the courtesy to reply to me. Won't buy this product again for these two resaons: messy and no customer service.

I find they are all about the same as far as effectiveness, as they tend to have the same active ingredient. So I will usually opt for the best price. The Dove product seems to be as effective as any other. It is about average in price, perhaps a little less than average.
It does not feel sticky when applied, and it doesn't seem to irritate skin. It actually does feel like it moisturizes a little. Probably because it doesn't contain alcohol or similar astringents, and does contain sunflower seed oil. So if applied after shaving, it tends to sooth not sting.
As far as scent, Cool Essentials is pleasant, not overly feminine nor manly, so pretty much anyone can use it.
Overall, it's a nice product. It is no better or worse than any other clinical strength antiperspirant at keeping you dry, but it is probably better at soothing your skin and not irritating it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I love this antiperspirant/deodorant! The cool essentials scent of cucumber and green tea extract is subtle and pleasing. The product has been dermatologist tested and the packaging states it does not contain aluminum chloride or alcohols that have been known to cause skin irritation, itching or discomfort even on freshly shaved areas. It glides on smoothly and also has special moisturizers so that it won't dry out sensitive skin. You don't need to use much to get the effect you want and the protection lasts for at least 24 hours. No white marks on dark clothing either!I also use the Dove Cool Essentials cucumber and green tea scent bar soap in the bath and shower so this item is a nice complement to that to continue that fresh, clean feeling. I normally apply this type of product in the morning, but may try it at night before bed to allow it time to acclimate to my body as suggested on the package. I have super sensitive skin and have been using a men's clear gel for a year. I had to reapply it often and it would still leave me a little stinky at the end of the day. Other deodorants have strong, perfumey smells or leave white marks.
This deodorant does none of those things. I apply it once, as directed, and it lasts for a full day (or more!) even after yard work, errands, and a workout! There are no white marks, no burning on my armpits (Even after shaving), just smooth, lightly scented, protection.
This is the best. It's well worth the extra cost to not have to apply a cheaper deodorant 3x a day! I just do not need that and really do not like to have chemicals on my skin that long. The scent is very nice, especially if you enjoy a tea based fragrance.
The best thing about this deodorant is that it is a cream, which granted does not last as long as a stick; but I am tired of having clothes that I slip over my head , no matter how careful I try to be, marked with white stains. I use spray deodorant in the summer, but those cold blasts are not very pleasant on cold winter mornings. This cream form solves those problems.
