I'm so glad to have found this product on Amazon. I have been using flax seed for 12 years. I was grinding my own in a coffee grinder. Then I found Spectrum Cold Milled Organic Ground Premium Flaxseed. I sprinkle a tablespoon full on my morning oatmeal every day. When I make smoothies, I add a tablespoon or two to my blender. My husband has recently started adding flaxseed to his oatmeal because he takes pain meds which are constipating. Flaxseeds help with constipation as they provide an excellent source of fiber. Flaxseeds can be added to many foods. They have a very slight nutty flavor if you taste it out of the bag. Personally, I cannot taste them at all when I add them to food. I love the convenience of having my flaxseeds ready to add to my food without having to drag out the grinder and clean it afterward. I keep my flaxseed in the freezer and use it directly from there. Omega3 oils are prone to becoming rancid and should be stored in the refrigerator or freezer once opened. I love the fact that these flaxseeds are organic. I also love that these flaxseeds are cold milled, which means they are not exposed to heat which would promote rancidity and destroy the nutritive value. I have read grinding your own flaxseeds subject the seeds to more heat than seeds which are commercially cold milled.I should add that my HDL cholesterol is double the norm. HDL is the good cholesterol. Most people average 40. My HDL is 86. Flaxseeds are the highest vegetarian source of Omega3 essential fatty acids and are attributed to many health benefits including heart health, diabetes, cancer, inflammation, pms, menopause and constipation. Amazon is offering this product at an excellent price. It is a staple in my house and I plan to order this on a regular basis.

Although the picture for this product shows it to be WHOLE flaxseed, it is as the description states GROUND flaxseed. I use this every morning and every evening (1T each time) and I have noticed a positive change in my body since I've been using it. Buy it here in the 4-pack because at the grocery or health food store, it's $7 $9 per package and through Amazon, it works out to just over $5 per package and since I'm a Prime member, I received free shipping (and no tax) also. Great deal!Buy Spectrum Naturals - Essential Flaxseed Ground Organic, 14 oz granules ( Multi-Pack) Now
I used to buy this item from Whole Foods for about $8 a pouch. I am so happy that I find it on amazon for much cheaper price with subscribtion and of course a free shipping . I use 2 tablespoon for my morning shakes.P.S. If you are a busy person like me who does not have time for making salads every day, just add a handful of spinach or kale, any vegetable you want in your morning shake, and trust me you will not even taste the vegetable. Not sure how many of you have this problem, but I was frequently constipated and struggled to find a healthy way to deal with it without laxatives. My brother mentioned that flaxseed worked for him. Spectrum Essentials Organic Ground Flaxseed has a texture similar to corn meal. My brother adds it to his oatmeal for breakfast. I have heard others make oatmeal cookies with flaxseed added. I wanted to do something a little more hardcore that would take less time and effort, allowing me to be consistant. So after hearing that apple juice, or aloe vera juice also helps with constipation, I chose to simply add 2 tablespoons to 1/2 a glass of apple juice and I drink that grainy concoction first thing in the morning, and also when I get home after work. It took some getting use to, but now I am a pro and do it religiously. Taking it makes me more regular (most times now going once a day, sometimes I miss a day but in the past I could go a week before getting relief). Try a recipe that works in your diet and schedule, but just get it in daily for results. You have to remember to drink 8 glasses of water per day. Side effects for me were all positive, I feel fuller and don't have food cravings, so I shed about 8 pounds naturally without changing anything else. I am 5'4" and before the flaxseed regimen I weighed 125-6 lbs, now I am down to 118 lbs. I never thought I could lose that annoying 5 pounds I had tried to lose for many years, and with flax seed it just happened and has not returned over a 6 month period and I have a 2-3 pound cushion. The product is great but the price varies. On Amazon I pay about $4 per bag, in the grocery stores I have seen it for $8.99 a bag. My brother buys 16 oz bags of Bob's Red Mill Whole Ground Flaxseed Meal at "Big Lots" for $2.50. So shop around. The product is a 5 star product, I give it 4 because of the price, I kicked myself when I found out my brother found a comparable product for $1.50 less than I could get it for on Amazon. But I actually love it.....
Want Spectrum Naturals - Essential Flaxseed Ground Organic, 14 oz granules ( Multi-Pack) Discount?
This four-pack can be a great cost-saver for this outstanding and deliciously crunchy product, which I add to oatmeal (cold or hot) to add flavor and texture. I simply can't live without it!However, as I write this review I see that the price doubled abruptly to $45.18 (plus $9 shipping) overnight! These 14 oz packets are widely available for around $6 online at brick and mortar retailers when PURCHASED INDIVIDUALLY, so why pay DOUBLE that price for a four pack from Amazon?
How could the price double? It could be due to the individual merchant or a disturbing new pricing strategy by Amazon. As reported by NBC Nightly News, Amazon tracks your activity on its website and adjusts prices over time, so even those of us who are Amazon Prime members can no longer count on consistent or fair pricing. If Amazon thinks you won't shop around, it will raise it's price to see what it can get away with. And if you fall for a price increase once, you are more likely to be targeted for a price increase again.
I recommend that you check the price of this item against those of the other online merchants whose links Amazon offers at the top of the page. You might find a much better price. I just purchased 8 of these bags from Vitacost for $48 with shipping. Compared to over $54 for just four bags here on Amazon, it leaves me wondering why I ever joined Amazon Prime.
